That'll do 'er.

Two elements: 1) appropriate surface roughness, and 2) nice, pristine surface. The "good surface prep" should take care of the roughness (not too rough, not too smooth) and the vacuum heat treat should get residual chemicals and nasty carbides out of the way (especially water -- water really sucks when you're laying down a coating ... oh, and oxides -- I hate oxides).

I know. TMI = too much information.:o

I feel ya Guyon. Two years ago my daughter woke up in the middle of the night and said she was going to throw up. So I picked her up and while I was running her to the bathroom she puked all over me. It was still far more upsetting for her. But I hope that never happens again to me. I wish a fast recovery for your child.
