man, scared the hell outta myself yesterday and this morning
last night around dinner I started having sharp
pains in my chest
for a few days ive been having this feeling
of like not getting enough air in my lungs
so I put 2 and 2 together and diagnosed myself
as having a heart attack
my wife told my i wasnt and to relax
she gave me an asprin to make me feel better
i wasnt hurting or anything, just one spot on my chest would hurt from time to time
anyway, this morning same thing, sharp pain on and off
my wife then said
"oh,werent you laying on the ground working on the
back of the fridge the other day"
then it hit me
the water dispenser quit working so i was in a weird position on the floor
behind the fridge with a meter,my chest was on my tool
pouch
anyway,all cool
dunno about the lack of O2,might just be a cold or something
but i feel ok now.
scared the shit outta me though

If you're insured, go have 'em run an EKG and check you out.
No point in taking chances with that stuff.

In both cases, Gore-Tex is the shit

Agreed. Got some Merrell trail shoes in Gore-Tex and I wouldn't trade those things for a bucket of chicken and a six pack of Bud Ice.

Well I have to admit I am imprest at anybody that can get more than a year out of a pair of boots I have to buy a new pair every year 300$ for my asolo mountainering boots and even my whites boots that were custom made for me 700$ lasted about a year then I sent them back for a rebuild and the only origanle piece left was one on the side and I have had many other kinds of boots they just don't hold up to my abuse but I try to buy only high end boots my feet are to important to my work to go cheep I never wear my most expencive boots they are my whites boots lineman 16" tall with evry option they offer
But off all my boots my whites are the best just to pricey to destroy

Or maybe it is my 300lb fat ass and workin hard labor
Iwouldnt have it anyother way

Fugawee, my GF got a severe pain under her ribs last month, she pinched a nerve there somehow, nothing serious. But we didn't know ourselves, so we went to hospital and there they did quite an impressive series of checks (X-ray, EKG, several blood tests) to be sure, 'cause as the doctor said, these cases are not to be underestimated. You probably just got cold through, but you never know without a doc...

On the 10-year boots, Beaverseat, I like hiking, hike as often as I can, do some long trails, but I go easy on my boots. You actually cannot find a rough or harsh trail here that would give your boots a beating. I've been to Slovakia that has some bigger mountains, and to Norway, but that's not so often. And the fact I'm half your weight counts, too.

I just read the news - there was -15°C / 5F overnight, so some of the rails here cracked due to the low temperature. WTF? -15 is some frost, but come on! :(
ETA: OK, the temperature where the rails cracked was -31,5°C/-25F... Anyway, how do the Scandinavians or Canadians do that? They have worse frosts than this.

Moreover, most of the Czech folks aren't able to drive on a snowy road, two of my friends crashed already - they're OK, just the cars damaged, not their fault, some other idiots ran into them, but... There's so many accidents now that people even don't call the police to take the record, which is otherwise quite usual here - the police doesn't keep up...

North Atlanta iced up yesterday right before rush hour. What normally is a 15 minute drive home, took 1.5 hours.

Hey Beav - ever tried the Danner Super Rain Forest boots? They seem to be some heavy duty work boots.

The problem with the boots I have to buy is they have to have a real stiff heal I have to climb power poles and if I am on a pole all day that kill ur feet and I have to be real picky becouse at 300lbs I have to have a high end super stiff arch boot so I have to buy a lineboot or and mountionaring ice climbing boot
You would think becouse u stand on a shank it would be no big deal and that is what I thoughtt before I stared man was I wrong

Good times
