Coal Creek Forge Ol'Beater

I while back ago I received an Ol'Beater hawk from Steve at Coal Creek Forge. Needles to say I was blown away. The head had some rust on it and the haft had a scorched black look to it. I thought to myself this thing has character sort of like your favorite broken in baseball glove you had as a kid. I do have another one of Steve's hawks but it is just too nice to use. So this Ol'beater was just perfect. I took it out to my buddy Joe's place and we did some throwin. Let me tell you this hawk had great balance and durability. I even missed the tree a couple of times and it ricochet into a few rocks. And I will tell you a did stick it a few times too. When it was all said and done it looked the same as when we started throwin except for a few scratches on the head and haft which gave it all the more character.:thumbup:
