I developed this system just for something quick and easy for my students to set up, but like it so much it's all I use outside of my larger charcoal set up. I have a couple more expensive stainless steel burners and an electric furnace that I don't even use anymore...

Thats some awesome work. Funny thing is about that weed burner I have. I used it to heat treat culms of Tonkin Bamboo for fly rods! It is multitasking now...lol

I can forge about any size blade in it, but it is limited in size for heat treating. 4-5 inches is about it for HT... good for EDCs though.

You can get another inch or so out of it if you pump the blade, but I don't like doing that too much. I just want to let it sit and soak.

I love those two little integral full tangs, the topsy-turvy and the one with simple wood scales. Elegant and clean work.

That thing is nuts. But cool. It's odd, in the second picture down, when looking at the end of the muffle tube, if I cock my head to the right a little, it looks like there's a mask/face with a thin mustache peering out of the flame. Maybe I'm not fully awake yet...

I didn't notice that until you pointed it out, but it's eerily apparent now that I'm looking for it. Almost like a satanic cat/man face!

Tai, it looks like you've upgraded your burner since I was there a few years ago! I believe you were using a Harbor Freight weed burner at that time.
