My new G&G Hawk Mudd with a cup of mud.
Now I need to have Monofletch to ship me some more Mississippi Mud to enjoy while fondling my new toy. [emoji106]

The variety today is Lavazza Perfetto Espresso roast.
It's a decent cup and available locally to fill the gaps between mail order beans.

It looks like you can order them roasted as well. I just started to mess around with roasting about a week before the Secret Santa exchange, so I don't have much experience with it yet. I repurposed an old air popcorn popper to give it a try. Overall, I've been happy with the results so far. It's interesting to roast the same batch of beans to different levels and see how it affects the flavor. There's a bunch of other methods also if you do a search for home coffee roasting. If you decide to try it, I recommend doing it outside or at least in a garage if possible. It creates plenty of smoke and the chaff makes a bit of a mess.

I got some of that Ethiopia Joe Bean from GotSteel a while back. I liked it so much I've ordered it twice now!

@Barman1-Wayne you let me know which roast you want and it will be in the mail pronto good sir!

Clipper is a new St.L roaster. I believe it is the guy from Thomas coffee. They had a fire or something and then split into 2 companies. Let me know how you like it. I might buy some more!!

Hey Mono, did you get a chance to try that Nicaraguan Gin Barrel, I wasn't loving their Ethiopian this year (don't get me wrong I think it was good) but I tried all the coffee from my favorite regions we had in town and for some reason everything at that time was kind of sub par. Joe Bean though.. they consistently put out coffees (maybe 1/5) that make me say "that's some of the best coffee I've ever had" and I really miss it when it's gone & out of season. I'm sure there are better beans out there but I think they spend a good amount on them. I plan to order some stuff from PTs https://store.ptscoffee.com/collections/coffee/Single-Origin in the near future since they have a lot of the Panama's that are hard to find (even though out of season), I've been curious about their coffee for a while.

Also here's a list of regions and their harvest seasons if you're curious :)

I planned on grinding some up tonight. I had some open that I needed to use up and that was next on my list!!

Trying some cold brew today! Great flavor but pretty bitter for a cold brew. I ain't going to complain though because I live about an hour and a half from any stores that carry decent coffee.

I just made some of that gin coffee. I ground it 3 clicks finer than drip and pushed 1 heaping scoop through my Aeropress. Steaped it for 2 minutes and ended up with this......

This might be the first coffee I actually enjoy straight black!

It took me some time, but I came from a similar place. It happened in stages. First, no sugar. Then, just cream. Then only a little milk. Finally, black. Once there, it was then that I realized only at that point could I fully realize and appreciate the subtleties in many of the various origins.

I haven't contributed here in awhile. This new-to-me (purchased lightly used) CRK large Inkosi with black micatra inlays arrived in time today to get some decent outdoor shots during my afternoon coffee. :D

I used to use cream and sugar when I first started drinking coffee as a teenager. It was mostly because that was how my dad always drank it. I discovered on my own that I preferred it black. One morning when he was filling up the thermos before leaving for deer camp, he asked me how much cream and sugar I wanted in it. He was surprised when I said none.:D It wasn't too long after that when he ended up converting to drinking his coffee black all the time also.

Monofletch, Just tried the Clipper. Medium dark roast, mild sweet smell after grinding. Reminds me of other Brazilian coffee I've had. Two thumbs up!

It did smell good at the shop. I think they have other beans available too. Glad you like it!

Monofletch, One of the coffees I sent was local. They opened their first coffee shop a half block from where I work. The other was found from the coffee review article posted by GotSteel.
