Coffee

That's not very far from me. Maybe 20 minutes. An added bonus --- it is on the way to Bass Pro and Cabela's!!

Lots of inexpensive and easy ways to brew some good coffee. What are your beans and your brewing method?

I use starbucks morning blend, i use a filter pour hot water over it try to use nestle chocolate creamer, milk, and sugar but still...

So I really have no Idea :I

What kind of drink are you trying to make? Are your beans preground and are they fresh or stale beans? What temperature is your brew water, bloom time, brew time, and bean and water amount?

This guide has some helpful hints.

I'd love coffee more, if I could stop making it taste like you know...

I see that you are in La La Land. Bad tasting water makes bad tasting coffee. Try filtering it or try bottled water. That may make a difference.

Coffee, how I love you!!! Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Dark Magic is my favorite coffee. I love dark roast coffees and the stronger, the better. If the spoon stands up in the cup after the coffee is poured or it looks like black crude oil, it's perfect. What most of my friends and family consider 'good coffee' is usually too weak and tastes to me like someone dipped a brown crayon in hot water.

Sometimes I'll put a little cream in it but never sugar or anything to sweeten it. I have a Keurig coffee maker, but I prefer to grind my own beans and use the little mesh cup insert. I use spring water to make my coffee and UffDa is absolutely right about yucky water making yucky coffee.

Good coffee is one of life's little pleasures in my book and life is too short to drink bad coffee.

It pre-ground, just trying to make a simple cup of coffee. i'm new to coffee, ever since I bought chilled starbucks mocha frappuccino from college campus.
just need a simple method really

If you like Starbucks and you like your coffee cold, give Casi Cielo (it's seasonal BTW) and a French Press a try.

I have Starbucks grind the coffee beans at the store for French Press. I then fill the coffee press, roughly up to 1/3 and then fill it up with filtered water. I let it set in the fridge overnight and the next morning, what I have in the coffee press is my "coffee base". Stir it very well before you push the press down and transfer the coffee base into a pitcher. Depending on how strong you like your coffee, you'll want to add 3-4 parts water and you'll have iced coffee for a couple days.

Lately, I've been drinking Cafe Bustelo from the Bialetti Stove Top Espresso maker…I can't say that I miss Starbucks too much.

Preground will go stale quickly. An investment in a home grinder can make a big difference. Easiest might be an automatic pod machine like the Kuerig and Nespresso machines if you want to spend some money.

With what you have already I am surprised you can't achieve your desired results. The chocolate, sugar, and cream should hide any flaw in the coffee. Follow the steps in the guide I posted with some bottled water and you should do OK.

Pokerface has a good way also.

Arrrghhhhh! I know how to avoid double posts, but the forum still does it .

The spoon standing up coffee is for wimps. If my spoon comes out of the cup like this, I know that I am close to a perfect cup.

"There is no such thing as strong coffee, just weak people."

Mmmmm...strong coffee. You don't need stronger coffee, you need a stronger spoon.

Why not just buy chocolate milk and add coffee? I have also used Hershey kisses before. Add them too a hot cup of mud and you get a tasty treat...with a surprise at the bottom! :D

When I was in college we used the Folders coffee that looked like a tea bag. Before football practice we would put 2-3 in a small cup of water- kind of a make shift espresso. In the ARMY we took the instant coffee packets --put a little water in your mouth--dump in the powdered coffee (usually Taster's Choice)- awake all night for guard duty without having to piss every 20 minutes! :D Those were the days.............

THAT...is intense!

There was nothing more boring than sitting in the tank watching a road or a building. It was worse if you had to patrol on foot.

Instant was mentioned and I started thinking. (Alway dangerous) I tried some samples of Folger's Fresh Breaks Black Silk instant and it wasn't bad. It didn't have that instant coffee taste. It might
be worth a try.

So that's the secret of not having to go all the time. Good to know.

Local shop is having some protechs made for them, kinda cool http://i.imgur.com/aBvGdR1.png

Cool, thanks for the post! I visited their place in culver city and had the opportunity to talk to the owner. Its in post #416. I will have to stop by again and talk about knives. Too bad I am not in protechs or I would be all over that.

Sounds like he is a good guy as I was told he has helped out several other new cafe owners get started.
