Coffee

Currently french press, though I am waiting on an espresso machine from a kickstarter campaign.

This is the end of the line for me (I think). I might have one more worth posting, but it's the bottom of the collection after this. :D
Spyderco Enuff Leaf VG10- great sheath and wonderful Spyderco G clip.

Coffee is Kuva-- Nicaragua La Bastilla. This must be one of those wierd coffees, because it is flavorless and not very good. I brewed it out of my drip machine and in my French press with the same results.
Post a pic of your blades as many times as you want. I always look forward to seeing members post pics. of their blades and brew. Disappointing news on your coffee. That nice looking bag tricked me into thinking it was something special.

Awesome! What kind of boiler, group head, brewing method (auto, semi, lever), manual spring lever, etc?

Score from Big Western http://i.imgur.com/MKJhjeR.jpg all of this was free btw

Impressive! What magic did you use to score those.

Showed up and chatted with people they had an espresso bar set up with one of the new black eagle machines. I had like like 4 flat whites, 3 straight shots all different orgins and roasters and multiple different pour overs ( mostly chemex and kalitas) all free, it was a fun day

OMG, geek out, you got to try the new Nuovo Simonelli Black Eagle!!! Wow, what an amazing experience! Sounds like my kind of cafe, thanks for sharing. Please take some pics next time, a pic is worth a thousand words.:)

No I wish I probably could have asked to pull a shot my self, the girl I know that was doing one of the services said that it's an awesome machine, the owner of the company was there too, he was kinda like an Italian Santa

Nuova Simonelli is using their beautiful Victoria Arduino Black Eagle espresso machines as the official machine for the 2015 Big Western Regional Barista Competition. Was the Italian Santa Gianni Cassatini?

I think that's what his tag said, he was people if they liked it, I've never seen an owner of a big company being that involved

Yep, that's Gianni Cassatini. Congrats to another amazing experience meeting a legend like him! Did you go to a VIP industry meeting?

No unfortunately, I really didn't talk to him that much, I was just sitting down texting a friend and he asked how my day was going, seemed like a genuine dude. If he's there next year or at nationals I'll try and talk to him some more. Nationals are in long beach so I should be able to go

Cool, I will be there as well. Always nice to hear stories about legends living up to their kind reputations.

Doing what you love probably helps a bit too, I was talking to one of the reps from slayer on reddit a couple of days ago too

Happy people, Happy products!:) I have talked to many custom knife makers that have amazed me at their generosity and down to earthness.

Didn't know that a Slayer owner was on reddit. I have been fantasizing about the custom Slayer single group recently released. Base price starting around $8500.00, plumb in only, and it weights a lot.:(

I think it's one of the company reps, if I was dropping that kinda cash I would seriously consider a manual paddle GS3 or a single group Synesso. I've heard the slayers are kinda harder to dial in.

I agree with you for consistency and speed but IMO the Slayer feels more special to me. Probably because everyone uses those 2 and probably for good reasons but the Slayer also has that new nifty preinfusion pressure profiling feature.

Yeah there's a local shop that has a 3 group slayer it's pretty cool, I saw they made one with a clear back and red side plates, I could totally rock that

Cafe Dulce in Little Tokyo has a Slayer 3 group but it has the normal polished silver sides and back. They are the only ones that I know of in LA that has a Slayer and they need to show that bad boy off instead of hiding it in the corner.

I didn't know that, thanks for heads up. I will have to check it out when I am way out east.

What are your opinions on Kees Van Der Westen? Copa Vida and the new Blue bottle in Venice has the Spirit. I checked out the single group Speedster and the baseline started out around $12,500.
