Coffee

I like Peet's Coffee, I also prefer the coffees grown in the Pacific Rim countries.

"Ah! How sweet coffee tastes! Lovlier than a thousand kisses, sweeter than muscatel wine! I must have my coffee..." Johann Sebastian Bach (1732, an aria from his 'Kaffee-Kantate')

I was treated to some Hawaiian blend while shoveling snow today, it didn't suck, and I happily moved what snow there was along with my favorite coffin nail.

Oh man you need to try Turkish coffee if you can find and/or make it. It's dangerous stuff. Light colored and grinds in the bottom intentionally. The flavor is smooth and it will knock your face off with the caffine (you have to drink it black).
Otherwise I find the best coffee experience for any grind comes from brewing @ above 200 degrees. If you don't have a french press you need one.

It's late and I didn't read every post so I don't know for sure if it's been mentioned yet but if you really like coffee you should get green beans and roast your own. Then you can control the roast level and tailor it to your own taste. Look up Sweet Maria's. It's a good place to start. I'm not affiliated with them I just buy a lot of beans from them and have learned a lot from their articles.

Oh and I agree that Turkish coffee can be quite good if done correctly. Also check out the Technivorm brewer. It makes great drip coffee if you can stomach the price tag and it's down right cheap compared to what some people will spend on espresso machines.

It's amazing how expensive coffee can get.

I have a new favorite coffee!!

SMALL WORLD coffee--Black and Tan It is AMAZING! Thank you orchunter93!!!!

I just finished watching the 2nd season of Dangerous Grounds. I would like to try the PNG Blue Mountain, but it doesn't seem to be available yet or it's sold out.
I'm not sure which.

Guys I'm reviving this thread with a giveaway!

I felt bad that I wasn't able to participate in the coffee exchange as I was up to my elbows in gift giving, sending, pay it forwards and trying to afford to replace my roof that Hurricane Sandy wrecked!

That said Dangerous Grounds and Todd Carmichael is one of the shows that I live to DVR. But in honor of the coffee drinking knife nutty's on the forum, I'm going to send a quarter pound of La Colombe Corsica to the winner. La Colombe is the Company that Todd Carmichael founded out in Philly. In high school I used to go to this place call Dean and DeLuca and think their coffee was good s***. I had no idea where it was sourced from but it was just better than the regular stuff. Turns out it was La Colombe who sourced their beans.

Anyhow here's the rules to the GAW.

1) If you didn't post on this thread prior to me posting this GAW, you are SOL and can't enter.
2)Your new post is your entry just say "I'm in."
3) I'll ship it anywhere at my cost.
4) You have to let the other folks who posted in this thread know about the GAW.

Let the games begin!

I'm in, but if I win, send it to Codger_64. No one should be forced to drink Folgers. :barf::D

I'm in for the GAW! This was a fun exchange for a little while. Monofletch, I'll be in contact with you as we get toward the summer months!
