Major Dick's...nice choice!

Not sure what kind of coffee it is . My brother in law came over the weekend and brought this thing to make his coffer . He made me a cup with this areopress . The coffee was to strong for me . He said I was use to the filter taking all the natural coffee oil out .

Aeropress makes probably one of the best cups of coffee I've had. Of course the beans and the grind make a huge impact on quality but your bro in law should have adjusted the grounds level for you to take the strength down.

^^Yes we do^^
I see you also have a fine taste for knives as well. :D
Why all the samples?

Thanks! The PM2 was a recent acquisition and has convinced me that it needs several Spydie friends.

I work at a coffee importer. These are samples sent from our offices in various origins. We analyze, roast and cup the coffee in our lab before we send it out to roasters. Brazil and Colombia make up the bulk of it. I'll post some photos of our machine set up and roaster next!

Outstanding.
Looking forward to some pics around the lab.

We are not worthy...we are not worthy.....

My latest purchase- Kicking Horse Kick Ass. It is similar to Major Dick's, but has more going on. It seems a little heavier, but still smooth.

I thought you guys might like this knife. It might have paired better with some Italian Espresso beans..... It is 1/4" thick n690co stainless steel made in Italy by the company that makes FOX knives.....

Nice one John. Now that I see it in perspective it is a large blade. Keeper?

I just received 4 pounds of Peet's beans today.
The blend 101 is kind of an everyday blend for me that is versatile enough for any of my brewing methods. And it's been a while since I ordered fresh roasted beans online and it makes such a difference in the crema and flavor. Can't wait to break out the Chemex tomorrow and watch this fresh roasted grind do its bloom. Not so fresh grinds just sit there. Not optimal.

Slipping the Emerson P-Tac in the pocket for tonight's festivities. ;)

It looks like Todd Carmichael is doing another series. There was a show last night on the Travel channel called Uncommon Grounds. Todd went to Japan with his buddy, Hollywood, to see if he could have his Dragon coffee maker mass produced. The show was more about him learning how to do business in Japan than about coffee, but I found it interesting. I looked it up, and it is supposed to be an 8 part series, but there was no mention of a future program.

Hope he cleared that title with my local shops. http://uncommongrounds.com/

Welcome back uffda I haven't seen you around.

Well, I haven't had much to say on the subject.

RE: filters for the Tiamo K02 pour over (#155). I read a review that said that the Kalita filters were better. I thought that was odd, since they look exactly the same. Just for the heck of it, I ordered the Kalita filters. In one respect, they are better. They are easy to separate. The Tiamo filters are smashed together and are a pain to peel off the stack.

Do to wrist problems, I have not been using my Lido2. I tried several brands of ground coffee and they seemed to get weak and stale after a couple of weeks. I bought some ground Caribou Blend medium roast. It's good stuff and it seems to stay fresh for three weeks after opening if I'm careful about sealing the bag. I am on my third bag.

I will probably put the Lido2 up for sale. I have to clean it first.

Do you guys want to try the Secret Santa again this year????? It was pretty fun. Plus, I have discovered 2 more new roasters in my area.

Guys I have to be out this year. I'm saving to get my house on the market and the down payment for a new place. Looking forward to the photos though!
