Cold Steel 2013 Lineup/New Products

Some of them "look ok" but the only one in that intersection of "looks ok" and "is reasonably priced" is the Bowie machete. I'll be getting one! :D

...despite the fact that doing so in most urban areas would get your ass jailed, such as most CCW permits exclude fixed-blades; thereby negating any practical advantage that lighter & thinner had... unless you feel fast enough to ditch it when a cop approaches.

I don't.

Speak for yourself. I can carry absolutely any knife, in any way, legally.

Interested in the Smatchet, Talwar, and Warcraft.
Not to be prejudiced, but, the Smatchet is made in South Africa, and I would assume the Talwar is made in Taiwan like their other folders.
I beleive the Warcraft is American made though.
But who cares?
All I need is QC

Talwar is indeed Taiwan. I dunno where the Smatchet is made, but yeah, since it seems to be part of their machete lineup, South Africa seems likely.

Depends. Most sites have the Recon for $70 or so, I have found some sites that list the Talwar in that same range, but several also list them in the $90 range.

I have seen a few sites that list them. Guess they are banking on the Newstalgia. Some of my more favored sites have them at a fair price, but sadly, already out of stock.

Yeah a lot of the places I looked that did have them priced like the Recon are already sold out.

Everywhere I've checked is above $80. I'm looking to pay more in the 65-75 range

On closer inspection, it looks like folks are running them around $79, with the Recon 1 going for $73. That about fits the billet. It may just be one of the things where we will have to wait out the newness of it. I would have grabbed one, but I found an old Persian at a knife shop here that I had to get. Figured the Talwar will be around for a bit as opposed to an out of production that could be sold tomorrow.
