My stripped and polished Recon 1 is sweet and I am sure will serve for more than my lifetime. One thing I like about CS is they always put out the classic clip point blade in various sizes.

I like my Cold Steel stuff; from the folders to the walking sticks... they really fill a niche. :D

Ignoring Gadfly, as I promised not to throw more tinder on the blazing fire of thread derailing, which walking stick do you have, and how do you like it? I am kinda tempted to look up their marketing video for it, because I doubt they're cutting pigs in half with a stick. One thought I've had about their marketing is that they're very "weapon" oriented, which I can't help but think may promote a negative view of knives.

I have a stripped and polished Recon 1 tanto (well it's probably stonewash but it's shiny :)). Did you rub yours out with sandpaper? I love the Recon 1 without the DLC. Got any pics for us?

Are pertinent comments still allowed in this thread? Well...I guess.

And I agree. I traded for a Recon1 clip point on which Glockman had polished on the top of the blade and the pocket clip. It's beautiful. And I've since added the Voyager in medium and large. I guess I worry a little about the tips, but I'm a light user. And I really like the look of those knives.

One thing that I'm curious about with the Voyagers is that according to Cold Steel's website:

"The thick, extra wide blades in each Voyager® also put the competition to shame, as they are laser cut from our famous VG-1 San Mai III® steel and precision ground to a thin edge for maximum shearing potential."

But it seems they're AUS8?

For some reason, Cold Steel still has the older Voyagers (which used VG-1) up as a page on their website. They also have a page for the 2011 Voyagers, which lists the steel (for the clip points at least) as AUS8A. I'm sure my 2 2011 models are AUS8A per the websites I bought from.

Meh, Cold Steel has done a lot of shady things that turn me off, as a buyer. I won't knock their quality, but I don't purchase their products.

Cziv, I traded for it here and the previous user found it in a pawn shop. I had stripped an old gen ak 47 and didn't get this result. It has a polish on the blade and lock bar too. If I can get a pic up I will. I dig that tanto you have I thought you sold it. Sorry for major derail.
