Cold Steel Bushman

Thanks again for the info. I like the jimping you put on the spine of your mini too. Looks like it gives serious traction.

Thanks, I'm glad it helped. I did a shallow jimping originally to make a place to strike the fire steel but it was so nice for traction that I just cut it a bit deeper with a dremel and now it works great for both.

i used my convexed full size bushman the other day for cutting a bunch of tall dry grass for tinder. it excelled at the light slicing. though it doesnt chop well. i love the sheath pouch though.

Here is a little sheath kit I'm putting together around the Bushman I got last week. I pressed out a kydex sheath and holster to hold a cheap matchsafe that I'm going to load with PJ cotton balls. I made a baldric rig from para cord. It rides nice. Next I'm gonna make a handle for a firesteel to snap in the handle of the knife. Then I think I may strip the blade and repaint the handle with textured spray paint. I drilled out the little hole in the handle so it will accommodate the width of paracord. Tough knife for the price.

The indention formed by the transition from blade to handle makes a nice locking point for the kydex. The knife is very secure!

In my opinion, you can spend a lot more and get a lot less. The Bushman is a lot of fun. I have one and plan to get another.

Cool sheath.

I just got the Bowie and its stuck on a Osage Orange sapling that I use as a walking stick. I mean its stuck.LOL
