So, Ive had a reality check. I recently traded for a Cold Steel Espada XL 62NX. This is the one with the integral bolsters and the polished G10 inlays. Ive always liked this model. Not too long ago, I had one of the XL Espadas with the abrasive full G10 scales. Very nice, but NOTHING like this one. Much as I love this knife, I have no idea when and where I would be able to carry and use it. I am trying to limit myself to knives that I will carry and use, since I no longer collect. So, break my heart as it will, up for trade she goes.
I cant say enough about the fit, finish & feel of this pocket sword. The Triad lock is amazingly bank vault. Zero and I mean ZERO, blade play in any direction. I am convinced you could hunt boar or chop timber with this blade. Though I am not the original owner, it is clearly not used and never sharpened. It may have been carried a little, and certainly has been handled, but only the slightest of handling marks are visible on the frame and inlays. The blade is pristine. I do not have the box. I will try to get photos uploaded this evening, when I get home from work.
I would like to trade this for an OTF. The auto bug has bitten me again lately, and OTFs are calling me. In order of preference, I would add cash for a Scarab or Combat Troodon, trade straight up for the right Ultratech or Dark Angel, possibly an Infidel, maybe something else? If my OTF search turns up fruitless, I may entertain other autos, starting with D/A folders and/or Protechs, Microtechs. If you are interested in this behemoth and wish to offer up something else, feel free to do so, but please understand that it would have to be pretty interesting to distract me from my auto search at the present time. Used is fine, as long as well maintained, mechanically sound, and not abused in any way. Preferably, no serrations. Cosmetics are far less important to me than function.
