Cold Steel FGX Karambit - Anybody own one?

I have the FGX Tai Pan and must admit to initial disappointment with the strength and sharpness. However, it did stab then cut (with a bit of tearing) through a fairly thick card envelope, so I reckon it would do the same to flesh. It's certainly not a knife for general use, I keep it hanging in my shower and I'd take it over a shampoo bottle for self defence every time!

haha, yep well im gonna hang mine in my shower after all the suggestions ;)

I got mine today. I like it a lot. I wish Cold Steel would make the exact same thing out of steel. The grip is awesome... the blade is a nice length... the "thumb ramp" is nice... it's just a sweet design IMHO.

I'm glad i got it because I got all of the spinning, twirling, and flipping out of my system before getting my real ones.

If you ask me it's worth picking one up... or starting a petition to have CS make a "real" one.

Probably the tackiest thing ever.
I can appreciate the work that went into making it but it's too bling for me.

Not to mention pearl handles...

[about his Karambit grips]
"They're ivory. Only a pimp from a cheap New Orleans whorehouse would carry a pearl-handled Karambit."

its nice, good for a collector, but again i wouldn't want it if i wasn't but its just a collectors item so i can see the point!

They advertise it as a knife that can be placed any where....like under a cars bumper, under the mail box, outside any where that you feel vulnerable. I have one of the night shades and yes liek a fool I cut a box with it and big surpize it screwed up the edge.....its plastic. But like what was said before these are real and able to inflict damage if used the right way....stabing not slashing.
HEy for $8.00 why not have one under your car next to your spare key. You or your wife may need it right there some day.

I bought the knife thinking wow, worlds sharpest knives eh? and when I took out this "sharp" knife I soon realised it was little more than a plasting training piece.

Thats why I NEVER buy knives from the net. I want pick it up, hold it, open it a few times, see what it feels like in my hand. If Im happy...then only will I buy it. Knives are expensive here in South Africa, don't wanna waste good cash on something that will dissapoint me
