Cold Steel FGX Karambit - Anybody own one?

A lot of the knives I want there is almost no chance in hell I can handle them unless I spend stupid money to travel around ot knife shows and gatherings to hand-job everything.

Kind of like rifle optics. Most of the time only specialty stores carry them and even then you can't know for sure if you're going to like it unless you try it out.

I generally take my chances. If it's not what I was hoping for I've pretty much accepted the idea of taking a little bit of a loss getting rid of it for something different.

That's just me though.

Tyr, I also keep an FGX pushdagger in the shower. Great minds think alike apparently. It certainly seems sturdy enough to get the job done, as you said and the grip is great for potentially slippery hands.

is that in case someone tries to cop a peak at your pecker? haha :D

I ordered one on 03-27-2006... still waiting for it.
Contacted CS but apparently their inbox was full that day because I got a return mail.

Keeping it in one's shower? Hmmm. That's what happens when one sees Psycho at a too-early age. A little surprise for mother....

Viral, thats why you do research before you buy the knife. The FGX Karambit may be a 'plastic knife' but it can easily be a deadly tool. Its meant to be concealed easily. Its not a work knife, by any means. The karambit is a rather nasty combat knife, and its damn near impossible to disarm a person who's wielding one. If you want something thats a utility knife, buy a steel blade. Fixed blade karambits can be good tools , but you need to have steel for that.
