Cold steel Great sword breaking on tosh.0

I think one thread on this subject will be better than two. :D.
Merging to other thread.

funny thing about cold steel products. The materials they brag on are usually decent, it's the materials they don't brag on that you have to watch out for.
This for example the polypropylene Is great... The faux wood cheapo plastic... Not so much.

HAHA! This is awesome! What the hell happened that it came apart BEFORE it hit the log??? The best part is when LT uses the sword to cut the toes off of the western boots! hehe

hahaha...the boots stuffed with meat is classic.

I think during the process of banging it on all the other objects, it damaged the pins or glue or whatever was holding it all together and then the inertia from the final swing launched everything from the handle.

Huh? The faux wood cheapo plastic is the polypropylene.

I was rolling when I saw the CS video start on tosh.0
my roommates had no clue why I was laughing before anything even happened.

CS is a great MARKETING company.

eh, I wouldn't say GREAT. Depends on the target audience, really.

They're great at marketing to mall ninjas, and high speed low drag suburban security guard operators.... Everyone else kind of thinks of their marketing as a joke.

That said they do make quite a few good products, and just as I don't buy into tacky marketing, it also doesn't ruin a company for me. I look at the final product to see what I want to buy.

When I started reading this thread, I was expecting a much more spectacular failure.

Sure, the handle should be attached better, but at least this is something that would be easy to repair, and could be prevented with a bit of ingenuity.

yeah i saw it and i was shocked as hell...ive seen the tough proof dvds and i cant velieve that happened either he beat the hell outta it or theres something not being shown in the dvds...

It looked to me like it was just a glue failure. I'd probably just re glue it, drill it for a pin to pin the handle in place, and shrug it off.
