Cold steel Great sword breaking on tosh.0

I believe that an idiot can ruin almost any sword by banging them on logs and cinder blocks.:jerkit: As for the CS videos, there is nothing wrong with having fun at work. Additionally, my DVD copy of the Proof video says that the tests constitute gross abuse.
Tosh is an idiot doing grotesquely stupid things. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured this time. I fail to find humor in this kind of foolhardy stupidly.:barf:

"Tosh is an idiot doing grotesquely stupid things."

Lighten up, Aunt Bee.

Someone needs to get Tosh a Busse Gladius to play around with. Let's see what that can do!

To those of you who think Tosh is funny: He's not. Sorry to break it to you. He is, in fact, extremely unfunny.

It's impossible for me to be wrong about my belief that he is funny. The fact that I believe he is funny constitutes the objective fact that he is funny to me.

I can't reach any sort of objective, categorical conclusion as to funniness because none is possible. But a little survey seems to demonstrate that on average, he is, in fact, funny.

Sorry A.M. but if you believe Tosh is funny I'm afraid your opinion is wrong. Such is life I guess.

No. I'll explain again. Imagine that you believe that you are in pain. Your belief that you are in pain is infallible--the belief constitutes the objective fact.

Again, this doesn't reach a categorical conclusion--the belief that you are in pain, which is identical to the fact that you are in pain, doesn't imply or require all people be in pain.

At any rate, Tosh.0 makes more money than it spends in production--the implication is that enough people find him humorous that they will watch the show--at least enough in surplus of the cost of producing the show and greater than the amount the television channel predicts it could get from competing shows it could be running.

And our small sample group here, myself included, seems to imply that, on average, people find Tosh.0 funny.

And there you have it: a valid deductive argument proving that my opinion that something is funny to me is always "correct," and a cogent inductive argument demonstrating that he is funny at least to a large group of people. Both arguments are sound.

I don't see how Tosh is an idiot doing stupid things and LT isn't for doing the same things. At least when Tosh did it, it was funny.

I think in this particular instance, injury to the cameraman would have had no bearing against CS. The sword was compromised prior to that point, and quite clearly by the missing pommel. I would expect that an argument of "I didn't know I wasn't supposed to swing the sword in the direction of another person after a piece of it went missing" would not hold water. There could be an argument if injury happened when the pommel broke off, but not after it was gone and still being used. Since there was pretty clear damage in the bent pommel during the water cooler cut, that was a warning sign to stop using the item.

If you are familiar with tosh.0 or his humor, you'd know he was referencing the cameraman suing his show, or comedy central, or whoever owns the rights to it. Not cold steel.

Tosh's stand up is leaps and bounds ahead of plenty of other popular comedians, ala the blue collar comedy dweebs, Dane Cook, etc...

his show is a little meh, but definitely has its moments. The cold steel bit was one of the better moments....

No, I'll explain again. He's not funny. No matter how many people think he is, he's not. You can find this in any book of science of mathematical proofs.

Enjoy your evening :)

Tosh telling jokes + People laughing at them = Tosh being funny

I think it's easier to prove you lack the concept of objectivity. That or a sense of humor. Tosh is hit or miss to me.

Yes, I posted about it, just also stating that I didn't think they had much of a case if they thought to go after CS.

uhh, no, Cold Steel didn't tell the cameraman to stand there while it swung a broken sword in his direction.

thank you for waiting five-and-a-half years to let us know about the constitution of actual humor, arbiter of funny. I guess I'll stop laughing at things now.

I am not an authority on swords or swordfighting. However I would think Armor Plate would be considered a hard target and such a sword would have come in contact with it on a regular basis back in the day. Is a coffee pot or water bottle harder then armor ?

No authority either but I have heard that when using swords to fight against plate mail they would stab to vulnerable, unarmored spots.I believe they would use a technique called half swording for this. One hand on the handle and the other on the blade to better direct the thrust.
