You dont need a permit for concealed carry here either, but yeah, you could get in trouble for federal buildings. As for State buildings, they are required by law to hold the weapon for you, if they do not want to have it on the premises, store it securely, and make it available for your immediate retrieval when you leave.That depends. There are plenty of discreet, yet functional sword canes out there-no one would look twice at. As for running around with an obvious sword. That would garner some looks and laughs. But open carry is common out here (I prefer conceal carry-element of surprise and all that) and no one ever bats an eye. So I don't think that a sword or large knife would garner panic.Legal or not there is a certain social cost if you get spotted EDC'ing a sword around town.
It might even be worse for your employment prospects than a face tattoo.![]()
