Looking at the cold steel knives at midwayusa theres a disclaimer at the bottom of most of their knives ; WARNING: This product can expose you to Nickel (Metallic), which is known to the State of California to cause cancer. For more information go to - www.P65Warnings.ca.gov. This is new to me; theres also a lead warning on some stag bokers made in Argentina. It only seems to be on those knives not benchmade or others. Its not like your grinding them down to dust and breathing them in,unless theyre saying nickel is radiating off the blades ? Any thoughts ?

When I saw it was from Ca I figured it was outlandish im surprised that any company put the warning in their online catalog; I can see if the place was out of Ca....

Prop 65....It’s a California thing (maybe other states too?). Basically, if there’s a product that MAY contain a substance known to cause cancer, even if it is a very small amount, a warning has to be displayed.

That warning is everywhere in CA. Even in Starbucks. I’m sure there’s more prop 65 warnings displayed than stop signs in the entire state.

In Cali don't drink coffee, park in a parkade, use a phone, stay in a hotel, go to a dentist, eat in a restaurant, drink alcohol, go to an amusement park, or you're gonna get cancer.

It's like that fable about the boy that cried cancer. Did it so many times that when it was real everyone ignored him.

Yeah, I think the new car I bought a couple years ago might give me cancer as well.

Oh man, we get some transplants from there in my state and you see the cars with CA plates on them and they always have multiple stickers of fine print on the driver's side window. Like, what?

Hahaha! Those are there so you are reminded of the many different ways you can get seriously hurt while operating a motor vehicle. I’m surprised there isn’t a label warning not to read all the other labels while driving.

Depends on if you have the knife cancer gene... if you do... you purchase a knife... following week you get 3 more... next thing you know you have a drawer full of them... they just keep spreading... invading all of your knife-free space... and you spend all of your free time searching BF for the cure... BUT THERE IS NO CURE!!! YOU ARE DOOMED!!!!

Nothing to worry about. Years ago, I ordered a Buck 301, and the box it came in had that cancer warning. Back then, I called Buck, and they said it was just required that they include that warning on their boxes. I don't recall if the rep said it was only if sold in CA or not.
