Im pretty sure i bought a bottle of water in California that had that same label. looks like the only thing safe to consume there is weed. It's going to be one hazy trip next time I go there...

Based on manufacturing regulations I would say some can be worse then others. Some may try to conserve costs and use too much of a dangerous material. Many coatings on the blades of overseas knives could contain lead in their paint.

If you think stuff like this is made up with no scientific data then start drinking your daily coffee out of a pewter cup and we'll check on you in a few years.

Here is a video where you can see people have similar suspicions. Now even though the test is pretty inconclusive it does make you wonder what materials are used in the manufacturing of the knives. You can see from the photo at the very end that the strips did test positive to the lead bullet and can see the results.

I'm always careful when handling lead now. I grew putting lead fishing weights in my mouth, those split shots.

One of the things done to a calf during a branding is putting an ear tag on em. This number identifies them with in the herd and allows you to track them throughout their lifetime. Its how they are known. Meet 117, she's a very nice heifer.

Ordered up some tags as we were doing our fall works last weekend. These tags came with the Prop 65 warning on them. Interestingly, must be a relatively new development as Prop 65 was passed in 1986. Tags have never had this warning before. Overly active bureaucracy justifying a position? Perhaps....makes a guy go hmmmm?

That explains a lot.

Send me all your nickels. Too dangerous to carry in the pocket with your other change. I will accept the risk taking them to the bank in the back of the truck. There is nickel in your dimes and quarters too so feel free to send those too.

Very good point. Lead, cadmium and/or other toxic materials in dangerous levels has been found in a lot of things one wouldn't expect, such as toy jewelry for children (and many toys and other prodects in general, including human and pet foods, and even flooring materials), especially those imported from China, but I'm certain there are some from other places as well.

everything gives you cancer in California ,
as one doctor says " everyone will get cancer ,but not everyone will live long enough to get it ."

I just bought a Buck 110 in Canada last year and that warning was on the box. I just figured it doesn't really apply north of the US border. Here only smoking causes cancer.;)

This is exactly right. As long as you don't use your Cold Steel knife in California, you don't have to worry about cancer. Another good reason for me never to go to California...

You guys do get quality scary warnings on your cigarette packs, though. The limp cigarette one is my favorite.

Of course, the key in Canada to giving yourself cancer with cigarettes in a financially sensible (10x - 50x less expensive) way is to get your smokes on a reservation (easy enough to hook up in Canada, there are reservations everywhere).
By the bag full:p

The question is do cold steel knives cause reproductive harm? If so I'm totally out! Cancer I can live with...

Looking at the cold steel knives at midwayusa theres a disclaimer at the bottom of most of their knives ; WARNING: This product can expose you to Nickel (Metallic), which is known to the State of California to cause cancer. For more information go to - www.P65Warnings.ca.gov. This is new to me; theres also a lead warning on some stag bokers made in Argentina. It only seems to be on those knives not benchmade or others. Its not like your grinding them down to dust and breathing them in,unless theyre saying nickel is radiating off the blades ? Any thoughts ?
Not just any cancer,.........it causes rectal cancer. The people that seem like they have a stick stuck up you know where are trying to tell you something.
