I've had similar problems with other companies but they have always made it right ASAP.

just received a reply from the CS customer service dept.they'll process the return.things are looking up

Glad to hear this result. Not so glad to hear you had to persistently chase them down, when living on another continent.

Jeeze, that sounded like fun...

In the future I suggest you use Skype and keep calling the pole smokers until you get it sorted.
 
COLD STEEL sent me a replacement,and 1 to my customer at no charge,not even postage.this is above my expectations.my opinion of their customer service has risen considerably.a happy ending after the long wait

Though it took longer than it should have, it looks like Cold Steel went above and beyond in trying to make up for their tardiness. Good for them.
