Cold Steel LTC starter

The letters in the bend on the right side are devanagari for hee ee ( or in our system H. I. = Himalayan Imports. You are correct also in that the half sun and the letters S B close to the symbol on the left side near the brass bolster are Sher's symbol and the initials stand for Sher Bishwakarma.

I find the proper way to hold it is to place your ring and small finger behind the raised back ring. The index finger then sits on the multiple grooves or rings cut into the handle and the forefinger is locked down by the thumb against it. As you gain skill you will start releasing the thumb, index, and forefingers and holding on with just the two rear fingers as you start the swing and clamping down as if you were milking a cow just before the chop lands. thus picking up a bit of speed and adding a snap to the chop. Don't worry, just take it out and start using it ( taking care to use the safety rules above ) and listen to the thing hum and then sing as you begin to get it right. As was said earlier, the knife will teach you.
