cold steel mini law man

Well I can honestly say as soon as they come in they are all sold. it's very hard to keep them in-stock. very often there is a waiting list for them to come in. there are not that many knives I can say that about. I also have never had a complaint against this knife. ever!

Define 'forward button' because you use a term I don't really follow there.

Dangreco was right. I hit the "forward" button in my browser somehow and my original reply was lost. Actually, STR, yours was one of the few posts I kept going back to that finally pushed me to get an American Lawman. Thank you for those reviews! :)

FWIW, I just bought another American Lawman to give as a gift. One of my good friends just had a baby girl. I wish he could'a cut the cord with it but I'm still stoked about it anyway. :)

Thanks for clarifying and for your comments about the review I did. I've compared the Lawman folders not only with each other as Cold Steel continued to develop the model after production but I've also compared them side by side with many of the other knives in my collection from all the top manufacturers. I fail to see how anyone can find fault with them for the little money they cost the end line user looking for a new knife.

I sell the darn things, and yes its cheaply finished and has very poor fit and finish on ALL.

The G10 is extremely thick and rough, not hand or pocket friendly, the TRIAD lock is the most over-hyped under performing lock system I have ever seen in a lockback/mid lock knife. It takes entirely too much effort to disengage. The blade to handle ratio is extremely poor.:jerkit:

STR I was not referring that all G10 is junk, however the execution by CS is poor and they have chosen a cheap supplier for their G10 and it is Junk compared to that used on KAI, BM, Spyderco, Emerson, etc.

Just got mine in. I believe this person above has to much steam built up from something else:mad:. The lock up is the best I have seen. The lock up is tight. As far as it being dificult to unlock well that is my favorite feature. You have to push that torsion bar really far up to disingage the lock. I see little chance that this lock could fail as long as use it for what it is made for. It is not made to punch through car hoods but in the video I saw it did so over and over and after that cut through some kind of woven fire hose with what seemed like much ease.

I love this knife and I own benchmade, sypderco, kershaw, Bark river knives, Columbia knives, Heck I have so many I cant bring them all to mind at once. None of them have the feel of this knife. Very sturdy overbuilt feel that I like, and again locks up very very tight, and the finger groves and the texture on the G10 are beautiful. No matter if your hands are wet this knife will not slip out of your hands. I do feel the rough texture you speak of and I think it is great. In time that will tone down with use.

My conclusion. I just told my son I just found the knife I will be EDC'ing every day.

Great knife and I would not hesitate to recomend it to anyone.

cheaply built:jerkit:, junky G10:jerkit:, and an over the top, under performing back lock:jerkit:. No thanks!:jerkit:

For the price they charge for those things I'd rather buy a KAI with quality products and much better performance.

You've probably never held one. Talk is cheap and so is you view. Sorry I just got mine in. The lock is the strongest I have ever had and I have had many. The G10 I mean what is junky G10 anyway. It is a bit rough and the teflon coating will come off easy on the metal. As for aus8, as far as I am concerned it is up there with the top dogs. I have s30V 13c26 14C28N N680 and many other high ends I cannot call to mind right now. Oh I had a benchmade with that overated AtS34 and hated it. By the way 420J2 treated by Joe Blow as to 420J2 heated by a guy that knows his business is two all together different products.

As for the over the top and under performing back lock you are fooling no one but your self. I am sorry but you just do not know the least bit of what you are talking about.

The teflon will scrape right off I give you that. The G10 is a bit rough but far from cheap. That will tone down with use or just buff it with 1500WD if you do not like the inital rough feel. I would preffer the knife without the teflon blackened or at least titanium nitride coating treatment, but so it wears off. Its not a beauty contest its a knife that is made to use not a collectors item.

This is one knife that has become my favorite EDC now. I have so many knives I could use one every day and probably not go through them in a month but this one does it for me.

I give this knife a total thumbs up and would recomend this to anyone that wants a quality knife, where the quality far surpasses the price in my opinion.

STR, I am going to buy both full and mini simply because of your reviews and your credibility. I may even contact you for a new clip for the mini, as it seems too high for me from the pics I have seen. You have clearly supported your claims with fact and much comparative research of other knives.
I also find your Emerson claims to be dead on.
I have not purchased a Cold Steel folder to date, these will be my first.
Thank you for your input on these blades.
Knifeshow, dude, come on. Really?
Just because someone stalks toilets on the shelf at Home Depot doesn't mean they are a plumber. Just because you can order all the millwork for Home Depot from various suppliers, doesn't mean you are a trim carpenter.
My trust is in the guy that uses the materials everyday to create the very things we come to love. He will know how those materials work best, he will know what a quality job is, and what one is not.
You sir need to stop while you are ahead. It is not that STR is a god like figure on these forums, it is simply as stated above. He is the plumber, and you are the guy that stalks toilets on the shelf.

At a gun show last year, I almost bought the Lawman, but felt it was too large for my needs. The lawman was by far my top choice out of several Benchmade & Kershaw folders. However, there was no mini Lawman, so I bought a mini Cyclone instead. Looking forward to the mini Lawman to compliment my Mini Cyclone. ;)

Well, the lawman's arrived in the mail, and WOW, they are awesome. I have been shy of Cold Steel due to the negative press around here, but again, STR is dead to rights on these! These knives are very tough indeed. They will see some strong use from me.

Congrats! Its kinda fun, not going with the mainstream knives, once in a while, and doing your own thing. :p
