Cold Steel panic buy thread

I have been thinking about one too. Sounds like they've had some product quality issues with the handles though?
Could be, though I haven’t heard of any myself. The sheath is what really holds me back from any CS fixed blades as they dull they blades. That has been a frustration for met Master Hunter, and I really don’t like having to buy a custom sheath when one is provided.

Two Bush Rangers
One Spetznaz shovel

I didn’t realize how sharp the edges of the shovel were going to be. This thing is wicked.
Ya I love those shovels. I have 4-5 of the original and one of the new Trench versions. I might see if the long handle fits in one of the smaller heads, out of curiosity. I use an axe file to keep the edges up after some use. I'd use one in a heart beat as an improvised hatchet. Truly one of the great CS offerings, for my interests and uses anyway.

I finally broke down and got a couple of Spec Ops Combat Master sheaths in two different sizes. I put stuff in those now and then. They are pretty decent. Otherwise my knife uses are very basic and I don't need a constant razor edge.

I wondered if those would work. Do you know if they fit the Warcraft? I would break down and buy one if so.

I honestly don't know, but I had a Becker BK-2 in the 6 inch sheath long ago. I usually warm the blade insert in an oven at low temp, slide blade in, squash down with oven mitt until set. Mitt on bottom and top. Put plastic insert back into sheath when cool. Be aware that some inserts shrink a tad. But it sure custom fits a blade and gets rid of rattles.

I ordered (all back ordered) a 4" and 6" counter point as I've always wanted to check those out. Also a backup Voyager XL Tanto and shovel.

guilty as charged
The incredible Facon and the no less crazy Magnum Tanto XII, and a Bird an trout for the girlfriend's purse

Dang! I am really liking that Facon! How do you like it??
It's the best of both world as a kitchen knife and a fancy outdoor knife. It's scary big and thick, edge could have been a bit thinner but it's nothing a couple strokes on a stone can fix. It's now the king of my kitchen knives, I have yet to meet a poultry or rib that can resist it :)
IMO, it's an absolute steal for the price, and you got a lot for your money.

In the last three weeks I have bought five CS knives for less than half the MSRP. Two Leatherneck SFs in D2 @ $55 each from SMKW, two SRKs @ $40 each from Knives Plus, and one SRK Compact @ $40 off eBay. The last time I made a bulk buy of CS knives was six years ago when I bought three Trail Masters, one Girkha Kukri Plus, and one Recon Scout all in SK5 at less than half of MSRP. Call it what you will, but knowing the durability and value and being frugal with my SSI income, I've better than doubled my money. Lynn's legacy will be long lived with enough steel to last my sons' and grandson's lifetimes. The most needed tool of humans; the knife.

My panic buy were: Large Voyager, American Lawman, Luzon Medium and Code 4. Thinking about getting Kiridashi altough it's quite fresh model. Else I'm very curious what they planned for 2021 :)

I literally had a year's worth of toilet paper stored up before the pandemic, and enough guns and ammo to supply the Bulgarian army for 6 years.

So of course I've been hoarding Cold Steel knives for years in anticipation of Lynn leaving the helm.

You guys gotta learn how things are done yo.

" . . . and they thought Lynn Thompson would be around forever!!!"

Code 4 came but it didn't impress me, so I decided to return. Probably I will make other panic buy :-D

I bought an AD-15 and a Kiridashi. I tried to buy a Khan but got shipped a Streamlight flashlight by mistake. I took that as a sign from the knife-gods to stop.

I can't stop looking at a Dragon Walking Stick...

Hackenslash Hackenslash what's your first opinion about Kiridashi?
It feels like an overbuilt box cutter, but it’s a great little utility knife. Not a big fan of the integrated, plastic clip. I can already tell it will fatigue and lose grip. For the money though, I’m satisfied.
