Cold Steel pocket bushman

Great post J..... I have been eyeballin' one of these for some time, now. Never found a folder that I felt was strong enough.... maybe this is it.

If you mean lock strength, you should check out Spyderco's compression lock. I've never heard of one failing (of course, I guess it's possible). I really like my paramilitary, and I hear the superhawk is nice.

Had one.

Hell for stout. Mega-Folder without the mega price.

Harder to close than the average. I forgot what method they suggest, I figured out my own method that worked a good deal better, or at least I thought so.

Heavy.

Definitely wear gloves, I think. I did a bit of cutting with it, making fancy a baton, and I had some hot spots.

In the end, I guess I am just too much of a mall ninja, I like a folder that is quick to close.

Finally got mine after a bit of shipping confusion (no fault of CS) . This thing is hell for stout! I immediately tried opening and closing it with gloves and then mittens on, no problem! A very nice capability indeed for a folding knife!

I used mine last hunting season. Dressed 2 deer without touching up the edge. Very stout ... I have some observations ... It's a bit bigger than I care for once it's up inside the body cavity of a deer and I found myself wishing for some stippling or stamped checkering once it got good and bloody. The metal handle also got very cold. I probably won't use it for hunting as a first choice again although it performed very well. Sharp + slick + cold hands = Trouble in the woods

I wouldn't really see this as a hunting knife. Gunk could easily get caught in the handle, and be a PITA to get out. I've seen them used for butchering game a lot, though. They seem to do pretty well at that, although a Fixed Blade is better.
