Cold Steel Rajah II

HD thanks for the review and the pics, from all the reviews I have seen of it these Rajah's have been tough knives and look like a beast of a folder. I really want to get one as soon as I am done buying all the other toys on my list.

can we get an in hand pic please?

Here you go.

Today on my hike, I used the Rajah to gather some fat lighter from this stump. It was like having a little axe in my pocket.

What a great thing to have on the trail.

Ah...about 6 hours of sleep in the last 3 days...but home now with a cold beer after a successful exercise :D

Here are a few pictures of the Rajah I to complement Horn Dog's review:

BTW, the III Armored Corps HQ's here at Fort Hood has had a long standing co-op where we have an assigned Canadian Deputy Commanding General. He came out to visit and share experience from 8 trips to Afghanistan with us and I can tell you he's a warrior thru and thru...very refreshing...thumbs:thumbup::thumbup: for our allies to the north :D

I was skeptical at first. But, that thing seems pretty darn cool.

There are lots of youtube videos out there abusing these things, and they all seem good.

Here is one example:

Nice to know it meets your standards HD. I think I might have to pick one up to play with :D

I didn't think my standards were that tough until I broke one of my expensive fixed blade knives batonning the same wood that the Rajah II handled with no problem.

Oh I love the looks of that Rajah I! I took off the pocket clip on mine. Digs into my hand too much. I just put a little lanyard on the end, and fish it right out of my vest pocket.

Interesting review Vic.

While huge folders are not my thing, that beast looks better the most.

And I’m weak when it comes to the Kukri Blade Shape.

I only trust a few folders in the field, I have a custom from Bob Dozier with a 3.5” blade that locks up like a bank vault, I also have another D2 folder headed to me from my friends at the Italian Knife Forum that looks to be a solid performer; I look forward to hearing how this one holds up.

As a fixed blade junkie it’s hard for me to trust a “broken” knife.

If it werent for the dumb park rules, I'd just carry the Hudson Bay, Ratweiler, SOD, or some other large fixed blade. But for my frequent trips to my local park, the folding chopper is great. Just like today, when I used it to gather some fat lighter.

I hear that my friend.

I just got one on order. I plan to edc it. how would it chop compared to a s6 or sod using the end of the handle to create more leverage?

Horn Dog, I just got a Rajah II and now carry it clipped in my right boot while on duty as a deputy sheriff. I position it on the inside and just behind the center of my leg and don't even know it's there. BTW, think you'll find the 'spare clip' is for the left hand side if you are a leftie, I know mine is/was. Anyway, great review and I sure like mine.

I got a Rajah II a little while ago. I LIKE big folders. :)
No problem carrying it the back pocket of a my jeans.

It got a bit of a workout this evening. I fixed a salad and some vegetables with it, not the first time it's done kitchen work. Then I cut up a lot of cardboard boxes I'd been meaning to get rid of. After all of that, there's no noticeable degradation of the edge, still extremely sharp.

With the weather improving, I'll have it out in the woods, where I think it can replace my Vaquero Grande. Then I'll see how well the edge lasts.

Great pics !
I've handeled one at a local hunting/fishing/outdoors show and it's awsome !I wan't one bad,but it's more expensive than a real kukri ! :D :D :D

What knife broke?

I thought this review was long dead. I have since found out that the knife that broke had a defect in the steel at the tang/blade juction. It was a BRKT Vest Pocket Bowie. It is being replaced. I should add that I have batoned the same wood with the Gameskeeper with no problem.

Ah, yeah, I didn't see the date. Thanks for the info. Sucks that it broke, but at least they have good CS at BRKT.
