After reading this thread- http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...ne-here-actually-used-a-knife-in-self-defense
I kind of want a more intimidating looking knife. Not so much for defensive purposes, but more because I'm reminded of how many awesome knives there are out there. How about the Cold Steel Spartan? Any chance of scoring one at Blade show or will the booth be mobbed? I'll only be there the second day.
I think these will go nicely with my future Spartan.

I personally think that it can't hold a candle to either the Rajah II or the Ti-Lite 6", but that is my opinion. take it for what it is worth.

This test video should speak for itself.

That Triad lock is rock solid. The Spartan is a best buy in the knife world.

You should probably Use your google-fu and youtube-fu before you try to ask a very biased message board about a coldsteel knife.

Get Spartan- If you can afford it got with the rajah 2 or espada xl those are truly scary - especially the espada xl

The Spartan is simply one of the best values out there ... It is one of the best knives to hold and fits in the pocket better than a Rajah or ti-lite will and better than my ZT 300's. You can pick them up on Amazon cheap .

The thing about the spartan ,the rajah 2 and espada lg/xl is that they are not really just folders anymore they are serious tools and can be serious weapons. You can go to war with those folders literally.

You ever have a big folder? Be very careful with that thing. I almost lost a thumb to it. When you close it, for some reason the tri-ad locking makes the blade fold rather quickly at about half the way folded. Almost as if it were spring assisted. Spartans come razor sharp usually and with that blade, what with a normal knife would be a nip, with a spartan you can loose an appendage. Very cool blade, very nice, but careful. I was stupid enough to fold it without looking at it thinking it was any of my other blade, I didn't give it enough respect, and it almost took my thumb off.

Yeah and that is just from closing the blade imagine using that blade on another living thing with serious intent.

Get one. Then send it to me. It will come back in a week like this...

I'm carrying this one right now :)

I'm a big fan of the Cold Steel Tri-Ad lock folders. Currently I EDC the Recon 1 clip point and carry the Rajah 2 when in the bush. I ordered the Spartan as an in-between blade that I can EDC while still being fairly large. Should be here within the week

Let me know what you think dude because I know you will love it.

I say go for the Spartan or any of the large Triad lock folders because they are wild looking and functional. I had a Spartan but sold it because I carried my Rajah II more often. I then sold my Rajah II because I got a Rajah I. I then went between carrying that and a large Espada. Then I sold the large Espada and got a Espada XL. So you see, if you dig the Spartan, you might just end up with even bigger and wilder folders anyways :)

its a great knife but are you willing to carry it considering how heavy it is as well as how wide it is? a knife is no good unless you actually carry it on you.
