This isn't a knife but it will soon become a knife bashing thread I'm sure. Are you sitting down? I was glancing through a Smoky Mountain catalog when I saw some new Cold Steel polypropylene junk and there it was. Cold Steels new Brooklyn Smasher Base Ball Bat? WTF??? Says can send a home run flying or an attacker running. I soon picked my self up off the floor and wiped the tears from my eyes. Man I have not had a laugh like that in a while.

Who knows? Maybe it will be fine for what it is designed for. You never know, you know?

I'm sure it would perform in its intended purpose but it also does a great job striking the :jerkit: nerve with me.

BTW, the new  doesn't seem quite as sarcastic rolly-eyed as the old green one....:p

Gee...I would love to be in front of a jury for defending myself with a bat labelled "Brooklyn Basher".....sort of takes a way the defense that I was in fear of my life and grabbed the nearest thing... a normal bat.....no I was waiting for this momment with my Brroklyn Basher....GUILTY...LOl

well my son has an aluminum little league bat marked very proudly "WICKED" and of course you have the venerable "LOUISVILLE SLUGGER". I mean its just a bat after all.

I prefer wooden bats. I hate the *PLINK* of aluminum bats when you're bashing in an intruder's skull. It sounds so fake.

I was laughing at the never ending Cold Steel drama (Really guys check your local laws) You are committing a crime when you pick up a plastic impact weapon in most states, but can use a wooden club. and I doubt you could justify this as a bat in court (and the defendant used this illegal club described by the maker as a weapon to beat people to death). Not to mention that Sjambok.

I prefer my e-tool.

I was given the idea on another forum of a tactical hockey stick and some tactical gardening tools. They already have the shovel all they need is a rake and a hoe.:D

The sjambok is the finest non-lethal self defense tool I have ever put my hands on. It is easy to use, hurts like hell, and is legal just about everywhere. Being non-lethal makes it a great choice for fighters and sheeple alike. I don't see the problem with it.

As for the brooklyn smasher, I have not used it for hitting a ball yet, but it is pretty much as stated: indestructable. And as for the legal question, If you beat someone to death with a bat (wooden, aluminum, or plastic), a crowbar, a brick, a rock, etc., you are going to have loads of legal trouble anyway.

Seems you're just looking for a reason to pick on CS.

If I buy a bat it is to hit balls. If the bat is not any good to hit balls, then I don't want it. Indestructable is nice, but a baseball bat is to hit balls with. If it is a self-defense tool....well I have never heard of anyone breaking too many bats using them for self-defense.

I like it.
I also think that it's a good idea and that other companies will be quick to follow.
