Yes, I know this threads been brought back before but I couldn't resist
Got my hands on a Espada XL last weekend and have been playing with it ever since.
First off . . . WOW! It's one huge slab of steel/aluminum/G10
The pictures are one thing but in person it's a whole different story, Large very LARGE.
It makes my CS X2 Voyager run out of the room in fear and shame, who knew
As for fit and finish it's not custom knife perfect, rare is a production knife that pulls that off.
However, it's very, very well put together. I know CS does not make their own products but whoever is overseeing QC on this knife should get a big fat raise. BTW, it came stupid sharp. The only ones I can compare it to would be my Spyderco Civilian and a SOG Tigershark Bill Seigle worked over.
It's a great knife just to open, close, fondle and check out the lines/details.
The lock-up solid, takes quite a bit of effort to unlock it but to be honest with a blade this large, heavy and sharp that's a good thing in my book.
It does fit into the front pocket of most of my jeans and waves like you would not believe. More than a little scary and this coming from a guy who EDC'd a Cuda Maxx 5.5" set-up for waving.
Not as heavy as you'd think but you know you're packing a serious piece of hardware.
Got this knife from a buddy at wholesale (about half of listed retail price) and am very happy with it.
A tip of the hat to Andrew Demko for such a well thought out unit and to CS (yes to you Lynn and your short shorts
) for making this knife.
It's a Beaut!
