Hello there, newly created bladeforums account, been gone a long while. In regards to Coldsteel products and especially the Triple Action folder:
1) Cold Steel, I like the company, they make good products, and with the $1000 I've given them, I've not been disappointed, with the exception of the Riflemans Tomahawk, it doesn't throw as well as I would have liked, later Trail hawk model I believe would be better and the 12" Tanto is too long in regards to handle/blade balance. Tough knives, a bit expensive, but worth the money. No I am not affiliated with the company in any way other than consumer. A Good option.
2) In regards to the triple action folder, I've bought one, tanto straight edge. Very happy with it. While maybe not as tough as the Voyager series, the difference is minimal. I've carried the tripleaction for a few years, and am highly impressed with the quickness of draw (under 2 sec with practice from reach to draw), and edge retainability. Not a heavy work knife per se, but for everyday use, its quick reliable, manuverable and all around a good blade. although there are slight problems. when I bought one years ago (when was new design), was very happy, although over the years, the small screws started to loosen on the bottom of the handle and eventually got lost. I called the company and asked for new screws, they said that don't know if they have any, except from an older returned/defective knife. so I sent them mine, and they felt like sending me a brand new one for free!, perhaps after seeing the wear I put on the knife after repeatedly throwing it at my walls and such. That was very nice of them

Although they seem to have changed the screw design from the original nut/bolt design, to just 2 screws. which sadly I didn't like as much. Though with a little inginuity I believe one can improve on the design with minimal effort. I plan to.
To give a quick story of how I used my brand new triple action (the one they sent me), I went on a camping trip with a friend and fellow co-workers to a lake. We wanted start a fire for some steaks, and lo and behold nobody brought an ax or knife. So me coming to the rescue, I started splitting logs (reasonable size, not huge) by putting my blade on the top, hammering the backside with another log, then pushing my weight down on the knife for the split. Worked very well, though a bigger knife would have been better. after I split the logs, the knife was still damn near razor sharp. Leave it to say, if anything happened to my triple action, I would probably buy another one. Just cause. though I really really really want a double edged ARC Angel *dr00ls*...
3) HI Kukris pown ColdSteel kukris. Own an AK, not disappointed
Hope this was helpful...
