Coldsteel G.I. Tanto review request.

I love the MOD fishface5 did on the G.I. Tanto since the fist time he showed it a while back. It looks awesome. :thumbup: Nice cord wrap also.
 
There's a whole line of knives in varying configurations that Cold Steel offers other than the GI Tanto. It seems the others aren't quite as popular. I have to admit I like the Tanto, but I plan to pick up some of the other models.

What are your thoughts on the CS War Head? Would you expect the same great results? It'll likely be the next one I get.

I have a GI Tanto and a War Head. Both are excellent knives. I actually prefer the GI Tanto over the Recon Tanto due to the reduced thickness.
 
Confederate: Well I have never seen one in person. The War Head does not have a solid spine like The G.I. Tanto so you would not be able to baton it like the Tanto without destroying one edge. Unless you just use a wood baton.
You could probably get away with it without any damage.

I think it would make a good fun spear head. The Tanto 1055 steel has a lot of flexibility and strength being only 4mm thick. The War Head should be able to take the lateral load/weight of a spear shaft bouncing up and down once you hit a target. This is just speculation on my part.

There was a thread on here if I remember correctly of someone grinding off one edge of the War Head creating a solid spine on it.

The only way your going to find out if you like it is to get one and try it. :thumbup:
