I think it looks great, thanks Linda.

The knife has been sent to Coop for some photos.

I can't thank the people that worked on this project enough.

I will close the name suggestions later today and pick a winner of the ivory so get the names in, or make comments on the ones given.

I like "Poacher's Bane" or an African name for elephant, but for some reason the name "Thunder Strike" jumped into my head. The feet strike the ground like thunder.

How about the "Gray Gaurdian".

The comment period for names of the knife has closed. Through a highly technical system of random selectivity where-by we put everyone's name on a piece of paper and then put them in a ht. Next my wife, Angel shook them up and I, with eyes closed picked this name. Darcy Ellis, congratulations Darcy. Please PM or email me your mailing address. All of the suggestions will go to the naming committee and we will choose a name. Keep posted for results.

Here's the piece of ivory Darcy won.

WOW! Thanks a lot Mark. I'll email you right away.
Can't wait to see the finished photo's of this blade.

Darcy:)

"Tembo" the Swahili word for elephant.

One of the most famous elephants was Jumbo.
The word "jumbo" didn't exist in the American language until Jumbo the elephant came along.
Jumbo was a corruption of the word Tembo.

It must be true, I saw it on TV :D

"Tembo Bowie" has a bit of a ring, a little alliteration and some rhythm to it.

PS, Darcy Ellis lives in Canada ay, so we had to send him some interior mammoth ivory instead.

Thanks Mark, looking forward to seeing it........the other mammoth I ordered from you came in today, and it is beautiful!
Thanks again eh!:D
Darcy

What an outstanding job of all involved. Linda's work put us over the top. Many thanks to everyone.

Mark, I think you may have put as much time in as any one of us. I think I had 3 days forging in the Damascus. I can't put in as many hours in one day as I used to.
It has meant a lot to be involved with all the other artists.

Excellent photos!!!! For me this will be one of the highlights of the Blade Show.

Let me just also add my thanks to everyone who has so generously donated to this knife and the cause and a special shout out to Mark, without whom this would never have been done. As soon as GunAuction.com has the auction page up and running, I will provide the link.

April 6 to May 29…..Concept to finished final photos. Not a bad time line for such an involved project, agreed?

It was a pleasure to be considered as part of the team.

Paul
