Here's the stainless steel sheath that Steven Rapp built and the start of the engraving on it.

I'm lovin' the deep relief.

The sheath is amazing and the engraving is looking amazing.

More soon.

What a fantastic job Jim and all the guys and the ladies are doing, my sincerest thanks and applauds to all of them.

Going to be a beautiful set.
I saw Steven make a silver sheath one time and it was amazing to watch.

The article in the August Blade Magazine is in error where it says the proceeds from this knife are going to The African Wildlife Foundation. At one time we had considered donating to them till we found out the President of that organization was on the advisory council to the President and advocated for the ban on legal elephant ivory.

We are now considering a couple of options, they are; www.elephantprotection.org and http://www.conservationforce.org/ Both are good organizations, more on that later.

Are you ready for this?

Jane Tukarski sent some pictures of her work in progress.

A little more developed. I am loving this.

I am so proud of all the work these craftsmen and women are doing on these projects. They are really coming through and I can't thank them enough.

I have come to a decision on where best to use the proceeds of this knife. It is an organization committed to conservation of elephants and preserving the traditional, wise use of renewable, natural resources for the conservation of wildlife. It is www.elephantprotection.org I encourage you to check them out, get involved, help where ever you can. The next round is coming so get ready, we will keep you posted.

Here's a look at the pieces. Now its back to Steve for the assembly. Thank you very much Jane and everybody for the fine work.

On behalf of the Elephant Protection Assoc, I can say that we are thrilled with this effort! I cannot believe all the generous people who have donated time and materials. You guys and gals are great!!
We choose the name Elephant Protection Association because the main purpose of our organization is to work for the elephant and help them survive. A legal market (starting with pre-ban in the US and post ban in Asia) is one way to do this, and with an estimated 100+ tons of natural death ivory available every year, there is no reason why ivory should be banned. Natural attrition ivory could be sold to help in the support of the animal, feed demand, and with a consistent legal supply merchants would have no need to search out poached ivory. Stabilizing the market in such a way would take the incredible profit away from the poachers, put money in the coffers of the countries that house the elephants, and allow elephant populations to thrive. It is a win - win situation. With your help I hope we can see this to fruition. Thank you.

One of the best projects of the year. This team seems to have all caught the vision and is flawlessly working together in one accord.

Here are the pictures of the finished "Tembo Bowie". Much thanks to Terrill Hoffman for coming through on short notice to provide us with these images.
