any one been playing around with any blade combos lately??

i've been using a bk7, a vic rucksack, and a pocket chainsaw... its' been great and I'm waiting to see how long my new rucksack holds up to see if it'll stay. was also thinking about adding my new izula to the mix it's schweet....( thanks mapper66. and DOC) too many knives??

what about you what do you bring out when your crafting or overnighting??

I go between a few myself:

-Kabar heavy bowie + vic rucksack or farmer
-1 of a billion scandis + fiskars or brian andrews axe + farmer

The latter group is the most common, but I've never felt undergunned with the former.

That's a nice combo RescueRiley. A little fixed blade would make a great addition.

I have actually been staying true to my "One year, one trio" commitment (see my sig line). For the most part, it has worked out perfectly. There was one occasion where I could have used a larger blade (like my BK9) to clear some brush, but other than that, the little scandi, delta 5, and Leatherman Wave have covered all necessary bases.

All the best,

- Mike

Combo knives, o-yeah !
1.Aurora & Mikro Canadian
2. RC6 & Izula
3.Koster Bushcraft 3v & SAK "Hiker"
4.Becker Brute & BK11
Just a few combo's I have been mingling ....
on my last outing I carried my Bravo1 & PSK,I know many like the PSK but I was left wondering if it is for me,I prefer the mini Canadian or Mikro Canadian over the PSK.

nice stuff boys.... keep 'em coming...

I actually gave away my bk-11 it was a dandy.. but my friend really liked it, and I couldn't seem to comfortably get my pinky around the handle..(I'm not a big 3 finger guy although I like smaller blades... but for the price it's a great little knife

breedens are some quality knives... I just got a kelley knife in trade it's pretty neat...

I've posted this one before, but it's still my preferred combo. I've got a new RC-4 and RC-6 that I'll be substituting for the Busse Active Duty now and again, and sometimes the Bahco gets switched out for a Gronfors Bruks Small Forest Axe... (I can't wait for my new Izula, RC-3, and RC Firesteel that arrive tomorrow, hand delivered to me in Peru by Mike Perrin himself :) !!!)

Now I think it would be my RC6 and millie. its weird to say that:D My brother surpirsed me and picked it up for me, I was kinda low on cash and he came through, awesome guy. I need the cheering though.

My EDC combo consists of two of my favorite knives to carry---a BM/Doug Ritter RSK Mk1 folding knife and a Vic Farmer or Hiker. It's a great combo that really gets stuff done.

There are many things to choose from in the realm of fixed blade knives---I'm considering a RAT, and the Rock Salt from Spyderco will be a solid addition to my collection once I receive it from NGK.

Last few times I went out I had a CS Recon Scout, a Buck 110, and a Folding Saw. In my pack I had an RC 4 just in case :)

for a while now i've been going with something nessmucky...

-either my fiskars 14" or the 19" wetterlings hunter's axe
-10 cm Woodjewel puukko style knife
-fiskars slide saw

i have a large Case stockman in my pocket, but don't use it very often in the woods. if i were to leave one of the above mentioned tools behind, it would be the hatchet or axe. i don't use them all that often to tell you the truth, as hard as that is for me to admit :o;)

Here's mine as posted earlier but, thanks to Pitdog, I'm likely to swap out the becker for an ML Kep or WBN and be done with it :) :

-14'' tramontina
- Ontario Pilot Survival knife (modded)

-koyote chopper
-leatherman blast

-briangandrews modded double bit(dont have it yet)
-vic farmer
-i think i should add a fixed blade to that, like a JK kephart

dream combo:
-scandi custom puukko (or somthing like one)-dont have
-Gransfors SFA- have had for a while, and really like it
-BRKT little creek- dont have, but really want
-vic farmer- just got this, and im really liking it

Here's my combo on most day trips. I try not to bring too many knives.

If I'm camping overnight I'll bring my BK9, RC3 and a multitool.

I am always rearranging my combos. Lately, it is a SAK Trekker or Fieldmaster, Kershaw Outcast, Spyderco Delica.

I always carry my delica where ever I go. Having a one handed opening cutter clipped to my pocket makes the knife really accessible. That means I have that out as needed sometimes before. ;)

Sometimes I will switch out my Outcast for the F-1 or Grunt.
