comfortable pocket knife

The A G Russell Featherlite folder is real nice to carry in your pocket! GOOD LUCK! Kevin

Benchmade Mini-Griptillian (with or sans clip) I find comfortable, as well as the afore mentioned Fallkniven U2.

I've lost two benchmades, before I switches back to slipjoints. Maybe its just me, but the clip always seems to catch on something.
a slipjoint sinks deep into ones pocket and only comes out when you need it.

Peter

Exactly. That clip catches on everything.

...a pocketknife rarely last a year with me, before I lose it.
I have the same problem, so I won't carry anything that can't easily be replaced.

Consider buying something that you can attach with a lanyard, Swiss Army Knives for instance.

I like those too. And they have a lanyard hole (great for guys who lose things in the woods). Also now available with a kydex sheath.

I've always found the Marbles 2001 easy opener Tear Drop Buffalo sits very well in my pocket. In fact it rides quite comfortably and its both comfortable there and in the hand where its also quite stable even in some heavy cuts. Granted its a slip joint but its still a classic folder that sees a lot of deep carry when I don't want to go the pocket clip route.

I also carry a very old Remington R1075 folder along the same lines as the tear drop jack or old english jack as they are called only smaller. These ride in the pocket quite well, usually have a main blade either in a spear or clip point and a small pen blade and I have always liked the patterns.

You can see some of both the tear drop and old English jack folders here. You'd have to shop ebay to hopefully find an old R1075 though. I think mine dates from 1930 to 1935. Not exactly seen everyday these days. :D

I EDC Spartan Lite & Bundeswehr OHT.

I'd recommend a Victorinox Farmer, or my EDC: a Victorinox Climber with Stay Glow handles. Both are a good size, comfortable to use, and have a keyring to attach a lanyard. The Stay Glow has glow-in-the-dark handles, making it easier to find in the woods at dusk.

The Buck 500 series make excellent pocket knives. The model 503 is very comfortable in a front pocket.
