In every group of handle materials there are beautiful ones.
I've seen stunning stag but also terrible looking stag. Jigged bone can look super or cheap if done poorly. Poorly bookmatched wood looks cheap, but good wooden scales can look classy.
Same with micarta, especially if it aged and you get the two tone look of older and new.
I have a warthog tusk on order, I'm looking forwards to cut scales out of it and see how they look. I hope to get a pair with some outside colour/character and a white pair from the middle.

It is also what you do with it. Micarta can look OK at 400grit and hypnotic at 12.000grit

I look forward to seeing what you can do with the Wart Hog Tusk . When well done , they look Great to me .

I like stag, jigged bone and micarta. For some unknown reason I've never been attracted to wooden handled/covered knives. I love pretty wood gun stocks, wood furniture, wood house floors and trim etc., so it's sort of off that I don't care for wood on knives. Like people favor certain colors, just some intangible reason. Maybe I haven't seen the right one.
