It's not like it's off center a little bit. It about as far off center as you can get!

That last picture tells me a lot that I didn't know.

I assumed they were constructed like the entire executive series but with a different material, I had no clue these basically had a folded metal shell over the knife.
That kind of gives a little more to the Canvas series naming too, because it's like the knife is wrapped in a canvas.

It's a shame that buying a Case sight unseen is a total crapshoot. :(

Does an off center blade effect function ?
It's certainly not something I ever worry about, but I suppose the fact that I'm not concerned with it means I don't know what would make it a bad thing.

I'm not judging, we all have things we do and don't care about.

Well, if I am annoyed every time I look at the off-center blade, the function of it matters very little because I won't carry a knife with a blade that badly off center.

If I go to resell the knife, I will have to disclose that off-center blade and the buyer is going to care, I assure you.

I mean, the blade isn't straight in the blade well. Is it weird to want a knife with a straight blade?

Depends on how far off center it is. I once emailed Case and asked, "The blade on my mini-copperlock contacts the liner at about half closed, and then scrapes all the way down. Is this normal?"

They sent me a mailing label :thumbsup:

I do think it's a little bit OCD for that to be a dealbreaker for a user that can still do everything it needs to, but that doesn't mean I don't understand caring about mostly aesthetic issues.

I am the same way with blades that do not open fully parallel, I can ignore when it's minor but it's one of the reasons why I do not like the todays Case peanuts.
That and the nail nick position.
Both of these things I concern myself are superficial and I know there are many people who just don't get why they should keep me from enjoying a good knife.

Who said it was going to be a user? Who is buying this knife as their new "main EDC"?? Show of hands?

I have more knives than I will ever need so the last thing I need to add to my collection is yet another Case knife with glaring cosmetic issues.
 
shame no large stockman in the series, or even a 2 blade trapper ... perhaps with clip and Wharncliffe blades, or a 3 blade with clip, Wharncliffe, and bottle opener or wood/bone saw. 🤔
