Yes, I would have. I'll go you one further, I most likely would have bought one. No problem with Taiwan at all.Perhaps let me do this, to piggy back onto my previous post.
Let's say that this new product rolled out as an Ethan Becker design, it has the same shape, same features, same exact design, but it is made in Taiwan, with D2 steel and G10 scales.
Would you buy one if those were the specs? Would you have received this product announcement more warmly?
I would buy at least one, and likely two.
I wish people would stop the China bashing BS. I get it, but how many times does it need to be said? I locked this thread up because it had ran it's course, then unlocked it when I found out they were released. Right back to it...
Agreed. I want to be very clear what my perspective is and why I try to buy goods manufactured elsewhere. China makes some very good products, it’s nonsense to suggest everything coming out of China is inferior. Further, I find it reprehensible when some talk about Chinese people in a derogatory fashion. I have no time for racism. Whether thinly veiled or not, take that elsewhere. What I take issue with is the lack of workers rights, a living wage, and a lack of safe working conditions. I believe all workers deserve that. I try to apply a similar logic across the board on a global scale for all my purchases.I wish people would stop the China bashing BS. ↑↑This is my problem. ↑↑ Make anything imported to the US have to be manufactured under the same safety and environmental standards we have to follow and I wouldn't have a problemWhat I take issue with is the lack of workers rights, a living wage, and a lack of safe working conditions. I get it, and will politely now out from here on out. I understand the idea that this is the manufacturers home and negativity can be seen as rude and disrespectful. With that said, if everybody only commented on what the like about the knife at best, or simply remained silent, how would they ever know there was a problem or better yet, gain valuable information for future product decisions. Like others have said, I am not racist, and have nothing against Chinese people, but I don’t support their government or business practices. With that in mind, I avoid buying products from there when spending discretionary funds. No disrespect intended.I wish people would stop the China bashing BS. I think its perfect.....how much easier is it to sand off the spine vs the bladePut it right on the spine?!?
Well at least they're not trying to hide anything.
In case you’re wondering, I tried to add the stock screws back to see if I could make a BK40 slim (I was thinking about making something Mercator knife like) but the screws are too long without further modification.
Also, FYI the country of origin stamp on its spine is deep!
