To be quite honest, I'm almost equally excited for both... furthermore then I'm already in a Muddy/tan spree.
 
Under blade finish it says Muddy Brown its pre determined when you choose the Rodent 3 Muddy Canvas. Its a separate Rodent 3 on the knife page.
 
The pictures don't often change when changing blade finish/handle design. They don't change with those option under the Busse website.

That'd be awesome if they did but they don't for me anyway.
 
I ordered a muddy R3. My preference is the muddy blade with tan scales, but I like the tan scales with black blade too. I actually like and want both. I just put a comment with my preference in the comment box of my order. I also ordered a rodent solution too. :D These will be my first rats.
 
The R3 was my first (only, for now) Rat. Didn't need to bother with colors. Got satin.... It can get colorful, if you let a patina set in..... Ask Turbomammoth;) ..... I love that darn wee knife!!!!

Agreed, nobody needs no stinkin' satin! Noxious, you should get a coupla more SwampRats, they are awesome in their own right.

aand concerning the muddy R3... am I crazy or the micarta seems to not be as sculpted as the others?
 
YES! Finally! Still waiting on the Ratweiler thought....did y'all notice they are offering more blade and handle colors for the whole rodent series? I'm pretty sure they havent always offered that, just on the solution and RMD.

Should I get one of these, or should I get the Polar Vortex Mean Street? Will the Ratweiler sell out quickly, or is it a full-production piece?
 
Looks great in that photo...and I called the price very accurately before shipping and G10 upcharge.

If you like both...go for both. But let me elaborate a bit. The LEs will be up for an unknown time---so place your order, they don't charge until it's ready to ship.

As for the Polar Street...ONLY 20...ever. If that appeals to you; go for it. Chances are many will be informed they did not score one....the Ratweiler LE will be a nice way to turn the possible PS 1 of 20 "sorry, you didn't score" frown upside down.
 
The description says in base config it comes with Black or Tan canvas micarta, but there is no option to select that.

Well, the Polar Streets go up tomorrow; if I don't get one I guess I still have time to get a Ratweiler.
