I think that's a great idea, if you do, post some pics of him playing with it, that would be a blast to see.

....... there are "some" among us who consider the ASH in the absolute highest regard. Till this year all ASH1s were INFI steel but in August the "Battle Grade" version was offered in SR101.

If you see an ASH you like for sale don't hesitate, again, there are some among us, who pounce each time an ASH is in need of a new home... ;) ;)

...God bless their charitable souls.......:angel::angel::angel:........:devilish:

How about the SOB, remiends me of a smaller version of the ASH-1?

See post # 11 :) I almost got a SOB as my first Busse, but I didn't care for the handle, and I prefer the blade shape of the ASH (though very similar). I figured given the numerous variations and similar products throughout the history of Busse knives, there could be room for similarly sized, differently designed blades!

I suspect if I ever got one in hand, I wouldn't put it down. It really was the knife that got me looking at Busse, at the time they didn't have the CG version, and by the time they did I was heavily invested in the ASH family. I just couldn't get over the "brick pattern" and couldn't bring myself at the time to modify a $300+ knife. Yours looks great! It really is a great size, and could really use a little ASH Brother!!!

Two points for the newbies. Please investigate the Busse Bad Mojo site. Wealth of info there. And all ASH1's belong to Andy. Some just take awhile to get to him...;-)

redwood22; handles are black micarta, soakes with a 50/50 mixture of turpentine and linseed oil, be very carefull with that mixture, combined with cotton it can cause fire, even long after that you have been putting the cloth into the bin.

haha the first or the second part? I know that if they made a compact ASH i would be good for at least one, but given the black hole of ash-dom that is Australia i would imagine a few would make it down under?!

.... both parts... ;)

As an experiment, take an ASH you are fostering ;) place it in a locked cabinet and mark its location on the shelf, check it the next day...it WILL have moved a little south.... they are always slowly making their way home... ;) ;) :D

So that explains it! I kept accusing my wife of touching my stuff.
