Comparable steel to K390? How do you like the Minimalist lanyard? Plus a custom knife request

Interesting data there for sure. I don't think it feels like it cuts longer - the Cedric & Ada data shows a strong correlation between more cuts and lower angles. I'm guessing thinness behind the edge helps it cut better. Not sure how much it does for edge retention. Seems like it would depend on a lot of things (pressure on the edge, steel toughness and hardness, material being cut).

Don't just copy somebody else's work. I'm not sure a knife maker here would want to do that for you.
Here is the result of my changes (for now only virtual).
The handle color is undefined and the rills are there just for fun.
Sadly the larger and thicker grip together with different blade dimensions made the knife nearly twice as heavy even with skeletonizing.
The balance point also moved to the second finger. But the ergonomics should be hopefully top notch even for a three finger knife.
I did decide to use a semi hidden lanyard groove afterall because other options looked terrible. (not that as a whole it doesnt look terrible already :D)

As long as you are moving away from just blatantly copying a respected makers knife, more power to you!

The K390 just sings in my Phil Wilson South Fork because it's run hard (63 Rc), because the heat treat is excellent and because the geometry is aggressive enough to make use of the fine steel and heat treat. It has an edge width of 0.007 inches
