Compare the UF and FK2 for me

Hey all,

I was set on waiting for the new FK2 to be released, but now Nathan's description of the utility fighter in the presale has me wondering which is the knife for me.

Say I was only getting ONE for woods use, what should I get? If you have a UF and know about the FK2 how would you compare the two?

Thanks in advance.

Maybe this next Q can seal the deal for me. Will the FK2 have the same indestructible properties and warranty to it? Similar price point?

The FK2 is about $20 less expensive. It has a narrower primary grind and is thinner behind the edge. It cuts very well. It is very durable but is not indestructible. The handle is better designed as a woods tool. You should probably get the FK2.

I see you got all the answers you need already ... but I would agree the FK2 for a woods knife ... I know I'm anxious to see the FK2 start coming out ...

plan on making it one of my main belt knives for the hikes and camping ... love the look of the slight tweaks on the FK2.

How do the blades compare in height (I imagine the blade of the FK to be slightly taller)?

Indawire that is a good point there. Any bets on when the FK2 will be for sale? Enough time for me to save up some spare change to put the money down for a UF now then save for the FK2? Any ideas there?

Is this mashed cat deal a new one? Has he always done their sheaths?

Which of the two has a smaller handle grip size? I have small hands and prefer the FK1 grip to the HDFK grip.

I also have small hands and have trouble with large grips that I can't get my fingers around, and I have no trouble with either the FK1 or the original fighter (I don't have a recent UF (yet)). I don't have either handy (no pun intended ;) but if I had to guess I would say the fighter has a slimmer grip.
