Just when I thought I m done...do I need one? Do I need one? Do I need one???? I guess so :D Will decide on the reason to own one later.

How about you guys?

I wonder how many of the pre-orders will go to speculators? Given that it will be a small order and will be the best competition cutter around, I'm guessing that the street value will be significantly in excess of the purchase price.

I'm out, though. I'm sure it will be awesomely cool, but not something that I would even remotely need.

I've been collecting and attempting to collect CPKs like a frenzied starved crazed man ever since I acquired Nathan's LC and then his FK a couple of years ago. Fortunately for me, I also made great online friendships and acquaintances particularly since this subforum was set up enabling me to network to acquire some CPK patterns of the past years which were already retired by the time Carothers came on my radar.

All that said, I'm very very conflicted about this pattern because I know that besides becoming purely a luxury item, it will otherwise not see the light of day in my hands. I supposed I could justify it as a very nimble cleaver but that will do this creation of Nathan immense disservice. I will most likely sit on the sidelines on this one and will regret doing so in the future when they are all gone. That's just how I roll :D

Just to add to what I have already chimed about: I think that these in the right hands will further magnify CPK's brand and even if commercially speaking this preorder will not yield anywhere near the start revenues which the BC one brought or the MC would also very likely bring, the CPK's BSCC will probably pay off handsomely for CPK more on the backend as this brand will be noticed in much more populated venues as opposed to lonesome users of the other CPK brands. #istilldontknowanything

Mat, just like you I fell in love with Nathan's work, but started with a couple of his skinners. In those days their was a smaller supply but lasted a couple of DAYS! I have learned his product is well thought out with a purpose in mind. I'm not going to compete so have no need for this model but I'm sure it's performance will only be limited by the user not the tool. That being said I'm not going to pick one up just go admire, but things could change?

Martin and Don, like I had said if we can sell ourselves on the idea of using one as a cleaver, albeit a very expensive one, we can then justify buying and owning one? :p :D

Please don't let me give you guys stupid ideas because I'm sure that this BSCC is not meant to be hacked into things like bones!!! It's like taking a Ferrari 4wheeling ;)

You could definitely justify it as a baller kitchen knife, you could be like Yan can cook with the fast slicing.

I’m definitely in. I think that running through a cutting competition course would be a blast, win or not. Just not sure that I’m coordinated enough to chop a rolling ball. At any rate, I have a lifetime supply (well, maybe not quite that much - thank you Matt Gregory) of various cardboard tubes. Still have one inch rope to play with (though my wife once again questions my sanity when she sees me sweeping up wads of cut rope at close to a dollar a foot), and am itching to try some thicker stuff. 2x4’s are relatively easy to come by, just need a better way to set them up.

So definitely count me in. Very excited! Mike

I do not need one. I mean realistically it is a niche knife with limited practical applications. I hope that the next pre order will be FK2.

Hmmm...kitchen cleaver. That should do it. I think I can get my wife to believe it is one very cool cleaver lol
