I meant that if you are a skilled cutter and don't mind a little bit of risk you should get the thin version. If you're not a skilled cutter or if you are risk-averse, meaning afraid you might ruin your knife, you should get the thick version. The thin version is more fragile than the thick version so using it in a difficult cut is riskier.
