Competition Cutter Preorder

Tracking with you on that Tony, and I would agree. Maybe a more accurate question is should a totally noob like myself get the thick edge because he doesn't know what the hell he is doing or go race edge from the start? Is it possible to damage the race edge in a knife ruining manner if you are hamfisted?

yes

Between the standard and small configurations, is there a reference for glove size? Or even better, palm width?

I made small so that one would fit Jo. It's pretty small.

I’m gonna let this one pass.

May sound odd, but being off work for 4 months with no pay due to this broken foot really changed my perspective on my hobbies.

But I think what Dan and Nathan offer with the incentive to join BSI is awesome and I hope a lot of people who get into this limited offering take them up on it.

I am also out because apart from having "mad skills" I have really no skills ;)

Hoping I won't need any help, but you rolls the dice and you takes your chances. ;)

Some of us are luckier than others to be on the good side of Ms. Jo. With Nathan though, I have both my good and bad :D Glad that he's not the Boss's BOSS :P

Dan won't let just anybody use his race knife because a wonky hit could wreck it. It was interesting when we were doing the LC development, Lorien and I both managed to bend bevels, but Dan's knife was fine despite the fact he hits much harder. A skilled cutter who is competitive at the highest level can and should use the thin race setup, but if you're just learning and you're risk averse you might prefer the thicker knife, though it will cost you a few extra hits in the 2X4 and could make the difference in a rope cut and the water bottles etc. It boils down to your skill level and risk tolerance. The knife is not fragile, but it's not overbuilt either.

Thank you Nathan. I ordered one of each. I've contacted Gary Bond so I can attend his next training class. The Nationals are coming up in a few weeks and I'm pumped to go watch. Time to start working deltoids again.

By the way, could someone explain "risk tolerance" as it applies to Bladesports? Besides the obvious of course.

ETA-These will be my first CPKs. But not for a lack of trying. Fast fingers around this place.

Yeah this is too much cheddar for me right now. Just got in on the HDFK, and bought two expensive pistols in the last month and a half.
Pretty cool though!

Is it possible to get a bit more detail about this, perhaps a circumference? For instance, my Keffeler Sasquatch feels good in hand, but the grip is a bit larger than is ideal for my hand. If the small is drastically smaller than the regular, which it sounds like it may be, then I'll definitely stick with the regular.

What kind of "risk tolerance" do you mean?

On page two of this thread, Nathan said, "It boils down to your skill level and risk tolerance.". I was just trying to get a better definition of what he meant. I'm an old man and heal slower. Thanks Jo.
