Hey, Tony. I have two of the CB leeks. One has the D2 significantly darker than the other. The dark one is a blem, and I just figured out that the blem is a too short blade, so I don't think the color had anything to do with it being marked as a blem. I got the blem first, by about a year or so before I got the other one, so perhaps the D2 on earlier runs was etched or patinaed, though I can't be certain which one is earlier production. I would really like to know the reason behind the change.

For what it's worth; I prefer the higher contrast, darker D2 edge.

You might want to try forcing a patina on it. I think someone on this thread mentioned doing it with PCB etchant.

I agree, the pattern on the Tyrade is one of my favorite.
