Here are some beautiful and interesting fiber "burls" for sale.
The first is a big pair of red fiberglass and carbon fiber scales
6" x 1-3/4" x 5/8"
$55 shipped
The next set is carbon fiber and texalium (silvered fiberglass) mix for a really cool black and silver burl. I think this would work very well with a damascus blade of some sort
5-1/4" x 1-3/4" x 3/8"

The last is mainly carbon and basalt fiber with orange, red and gold fiberglass accents. Very striking set of scales.
5-3/4" x 1-3/4" x (a fat) 3/8"

All scales were mixed and cured with a clear high strength laminating epoxy designed for use with these man made fibers. The scales are hard and dense with a plastic like "clack" when tapped together.
