I finally got around to fixing the images in this thread, so I thought I'd celebrate by updating it with a few new pictures of concealed Cold Steel backup. Enjoy!

Nice! Where did you get the pix from?

I gathered the photos in this thread from all over the Internet. I enjoy looking at pictures of the knives people choose for personal carry, particularly those carried for defense. Cold Steel tends to be a popular choice.

In the "Round Table" column of the Fall 2018 issue of Ballistic magazine, on the newsstands now, professionals from the VIP protection industry were asked about the gear that they carry on the job and the rationale behind carrying those particular items. Included in the article was this photo of the equipment belonging to SEAL Teams One and Six veteran/former police officer/self-defense instructor Chris Caracci.

Unlike his inquiries of the other individuals interviewed, the author neglected to ask Mr. Caracci about his knife choice, which is too bad because I would have liked to have heard his thoughts about his Cold Steel. As the designer of the GG&G Pendulum and the Benchmade AFCK folders, I find it interesting that Mr. Caracci chooses to carry a custom-sheathed Cold Steel San Mai III Magnum Tanto II for his defense knife. Obviously he is serious about incorporating bladeware in his protective lineup.

I wander if the red sash in the middle of the magnum tanto is for grip purposes?

Not a Cold Steel, but today I've decided to give open carry a try.

Apart from some sr¡trange looks, nothing happened. Some people didn't seem to notice it being in front of me, but I guess they just felt awkward

Going back to concealed carry, I guess!
Nice set up!! That spydie G-clip is IMO better choice to a tek loc due to how many options there is for carry

Have to agree with you on the Spyderco G-Clip. I designed those for Syderco when they wanted to get away from using the mini-Teklok. They are based on the ones I had been making by hand for many years. They will fit on many of the Cold Steel sheaths as well if you remove the drop loop that is on them. I prefer the "high ride" carry or IWB.

I knew I should have joined bladeforums sooner!! Very cool to speak with makers/designers, I've been using my spydie G-clips on everything from cold steel, crkt, boker, even few no name blades. As of today (last month or so) using a G-clip on a boker plus GITFO-DA at 12-12:30ish position. Biggest seller on me is don't have to switch clips from belt clothes, baseketball shorts PJ's the G-clip works with anything I wear

That's what it was designed for. Glad you enjoy and recognize the utility. Hot and humid here in the summer, so most of the time I'm wearing jersey shorts and don't have a belt to support carrying my Laredo, so I carry a Tanto Lite IWB, using the G-Clip on one of my Drawpoint sheaths
