Condor Axes: any reviews?

If we can keep this civil I'm happy to respond....

To be specific, all the axes had sideways grained handles, terrible alignment, and dull edges with very thick and improper ground profiles. Edge retention and shock resistance wouldn't matter much with these glaring issues.

Hopefully this is taken care of as I'm pretty interested in some of the upcoming hatchets.

So far the 4 machetes I have had from Condor have been great. The Golok was the only one I did not take a shine to. More personal based than quality - I had a very early one & the blocky handle just never felt right. Gave it to a Father in my son's Scout Pack so hopefully it serves him well.

I just got the Golok machete a few months ago and can attest to the fact that is is a quality product. I had been warned by a few people that the balls crack on the handles but I have beat the hell out of mine and it has stood the test.

Also got a Condor Hudson Bay a month or so back and stripped the blade and put it to work. It took everything I threw at it. So far I have been extremely impressed with their products.

The Boomslang looks like another knife I would like to try. I am all in for an axe or hatchet from these folks. I have seen no quality issues in the ones I have purchased. :thumbup:

I would anticipate a large improvement in this coming stock. I think they are addressing the issues that have been raised. The imput from the forums works to let the companies know issues in short order. They hear about problems quickly and can use that to their advantage, if the are on it. With Joe being a mod here, they are! I like the look of the hatchet. Kind of a wilderness carpenter mix. I'll get one.

Of course, the full tang didn't help the edge on my brother's Golok when he overchopped into the concrete!

Cool beans, dude! In the interest of full disclosure let it be known that while I mentioned earlier in the thread that I don't currently carry any Condor products for sale, that may change shortly. I'm a big enough fan that it would be kind of embarrassing not to.
