Condor Dundee Bowie... That's a knife!

A bit heavy for ivy, though it still does very well on it.

^ (chuckles) Damn!

That shot reminds of what my lensman friend once said; "You know sometimes its HOW you take the shot rather than what you're shooting. . . "

I've been impressed enough with my condor product (HD kukri) that I will be purchasing more when I feel the itch for a big knife. Been lusting for a boomslang (or however you spell it) for a minute.

The only thing that stops me from buying one is the handle's shape and material, but it's acceptable at the price point.

I think Condor should come out with a blade like this, but with a more traditional wood handle and with a guard. Perhaps without the black coating, too.

Something more along the lines of Svord's Von Tempsky Bowie, but at a lower price point... I'd bet it would sell quite well.

In my opinion, the ergonomics of the Dundee bowie are excellent. Chopping with this beast is very natural feeling. At least, that's what I've noticed. Though, a more traditional style would be nice.

True, the handle looks great in terms of ergonomics, etc. I think a traditional bowie of similar size would be a great addition though - the market seems to have a lack of affordable options for large wood + steel + guard traditional bowies and Condor always seems to provide a lot of steel for the price - anywhere under $100 would be great. I hope 42 is right :D

Only time will tell--it's just an educated guess on my part, though! If Condor were to come out with such an animal my guess as to pricing would be an MSRP of $120-ish with street pricing under the $100 mark. Again, just a guess. Such a thing could not be in the works just as easily as it could be. :)

One helluva big camp knife 11"!! Reminds me of an Ontario SP10 Marine Raider. Much better looking ergos for chopping on the Dundee from the looks of it. Great knife.

I am very impressed so far. Chops better than a lot of hatchets I've owned. And of course there is a certain cool factor with a big bowie like that. Lol.

I think if you guys want a traditional handled Dundee bowie, a good step might be to head over to the BushcraftUSA forums and post it on the "what do you want Condor to bring out" thread.

I know Joe is a moderator here, but it couldn't hurt for all of the ideas to be compiled in one place for them.

Chopped some pork loin and potatoes with it. Works good, but a bit tiring on the wrist. My wife's chef knife is a lot more comfortable at that job.

Update:
So, after using it hard and finally chopping up an old petrified bed frame, I finally chipped the edge. Not bad, definitely fixable.
